I‘m starting my very first semester in about 2 weeks. I have sum questions and I’m lowkey scared cause the uni life is getting closer and closer

Tell me about your own first uni/college experience and please give me tips on how to survive and what do to in your first days/weeks/months

Well um definitely don't be me because to commemorate i got a tattoo and i now have a taco forever on my body

but in reality, make sure you don't get too behind!! It's okay to go a little if you're sure you can keep up, but make sure not to get out of hand. And take notes! They helped me 200%.

I think ur major is graphic design?

I have my 2nd exam this week but suddenly schools are closed form today onwards. They found a Covid19 patient after long time ahhh.

I had a hard first day at school due to separation anxiety from my family however I think the day was remedied easily by talking to friends online and by eating some good food. I would spoil yourself on that first day and even the first week to make sure you're having the best and most comfortable time getting used t o it. If you enjoy socializing it's also a good chance to reach out and try to make new friends but if you're not , like me, than you can always just watch a movie you love or something like that

Right, I‘ve trained my whole life so I‘m already an expert Uni is gonna be easy

That's easy then. I already had a list prepared of tips and tricks of living alone lol.

My major was CS as well, specifically Software Engineering and I have to tell you, you will not learn a lot during lectures. Your own experiences will be your best tutor, whereas tests are a formality based on trick questions that you will have to prepare for. Whenever in a lecture, make sure to write as much as you can, trust me you will need it. I am guilty of this myself, but do NOT postpone revision. Whenever new material is learnt, spend at least an hour a day revising it. The problem with CS is that it's like math. You will have to apply your previous knowledge to upgrade the current one. So if you don't revise in a timely manner you will be overwhelmed.

I was about to give tips but I just remembered. You'll be working from home?

I do have some academic tips:
- Before you buy/rent the textbook, see if you can find a PDF of the whole book first.
- Have a planner. And use it.
- Professors don't know if you need help if you don't ask. Advocate for yourself, even more now during this pandemic.

And I'll guess you major is... something in the arts & sciences?

Congrats! It went slow for me, unlike high school.
