Why are companies so iffy about debuting really short idols? (2 Viewers)

I mean yeah, I get why they want the groups to be tall, bcs beauty standards...

BUT, one short member can be an excellent draw and standout thing.
They make the cutie factor sky rocket, they are just generally interesting to see in a group etc

SVT's Woozi was the biggest fan attractor back in their debut days presicely bcs of his short height and cute looks
IZ*ONE's Nako is often called a fairy and well loved for her short height

Why don't more companies do this to have one of their members stand out?

PS: Fun fact, the 2nd shortest in SVT is 9 cm taller than Woozi

I personally don't really care about heights at all since I barely notice one being much taller/shorter than the others anyway unless its a case like Woozi or BM

It really isn't so much about the height, but the height gap
I'ts obvious if the gap is big like with BM or with Woozi, but when the gap isn't that big it isn't that noticeable!

I know SKZ has some members who are around 167cm but it doesn't stick out as much, bcs there isn't a noticeable height gap.

i think one reason might be cuz of the aesthetics etc. at least for female idols or western GGs if there is a bigger height gap they always use shoes as a way to level it out so it looks better and their height doesnt really gets put in a good light in that sense (saying its okay to be really tall/short)

It is definitely harder for smbdy whose height stands out to blend into the choreo, it requires them to be really good dancers.
But it can be used as a strenght (like SVT) did, where the height might even be emphasized. In one choreo Woozi climbs on Mingyu's back for example.

Well they did drop Rv and all of them are short except Joy.
Irene is kinda unique as a it girl/ visual/ center as short as she is. Most are 168-172
Sunny is short at 155.

I think its hard to have a super short or super tall member in a small group.

Like 70% of female idols are super short to me lmao but that's because anybody under 5'5" I classify as teeny-tiny lol

But beside the choreo stuff people mentioned i'd also say styling them would be harder to do (the same can be said for super tall idols too). A lot of groups seem to have one big shared closet that the stylist choose from and if they aren't all relatively the same size or can't have the clothes quickly adjusted it would be harder for stylist to dress them.

Too short and a member will need tailoring done and too tall and you might have to buy there clothes from a specialty place lol

The idols own dance skill needs to be better than avarage as well, bcs they need to time their movements better, bcs their longer limbs make the movements take more time etc
