Those kinds of people tend to confuse not caring with not absorbing information. Anything you hear will, of course, have some sort of reaction, you can't just do nothing, because even that's something technically. So, of course, a reaction will be had. What they don't understand is that having any sort of 'response' doesn't automatically mean the issue has resonated with someone. People that stupid aren't really worth you're time. So say you don't care if that's what's true. If someone is too childish and immature to treat your actions respectfully and acknowledge them the way you mean them, and instead feels the need to clearly twist you're words, just to feel some form of satisfaction, then they aren't worth the wasted effort to communicate any more clearly. If someone tries to make me care about something I've clearly expressed the disinterest in, and want to distance myself from...then I sort of just scoff and walk away.
