If so, who is it and why have you chosen that person as your role model?
And what is your general opinion on having role models?

Spoiler: me

I can't say I have a role model, but I was lucky enough to meet a few great people throughout my life that have inspired me and made me want to be better. I think having a role model is okay as long as you don't try to become that person and understand that they're just another human being with flaws and that they make mistakes like anybody else too.

I am very fortunate to come from a fantastic family.
I fall short but the examples are there for me to get back up and do better.

When I was in undergrad I had this professor who was like an academic mentor and thus would qualify as a role model. I do think it is important to have role models of both sex. If you have a range of people to whom you aspire to be like, then it may provide a barrier against complacency and help you strive to do better.

Never had one tbh, i have admiration for people's skills but nothing that makes think 'oh they're my role model" I actually hated this question in school it was always asked lol
I think generally for most its something important and helps them define who they want to be and how its possible to achieve that,
however there is a fine line between Admiration of someones skills or position in life and Obsession with waiting to be just like them.
Its just important to remember that your role model is also Human they will make mistakes (some you may not be aware of) and you should strive to be some what like them in character (sharing skills like determination, passion etc) but also become the individual you want to be.
