It depended on the thing. Like, they were never strict about a curfew (but then again, I never had a car or many friends, let alone a boyfriend/date, so there didn't really need to be one lol), but they were strict when it came to things like my schooling, even through my one year of college. To my mom, "passing" wasn't good enough - she wanted me to "ace" everything. Plus, I cannot count the number of times I've been grounded for procrastinating homework by having my privileges taken away. One time, I almost had my BSB tickets (for their Black & Blue tour in Atlanta) taken away because I was such a bad student (not only did I procrastinate, but there was also some in-school trouble), but I managed to clean up my act enough by the time the concert rolled around, so they didn't.
My grandma was also pretty strict when I was little - sometimes even bordering damn near on mean. As she got into her eighties and ninetyies, she mellowed out, but during my childhood - UGH!!! She wouldn't even let me listen to my own music because she found it atrocious. I mean, who could blame her, right? But did she not realize that she could just ask me to turn the radio down instead of making me turn the damn thing off???
Sorry for the essay. lol Lots of memories.
