    I know I just left but I have come back for a split second to let you know that I will no longer be a backup dancer.
    Once this tour ends (Sometime next year), I will be becoming a trainee again but this time at MORE VISION!!!
    omg I'm so happy

    I just wanted to let you know because you have always been by my side through this difficult journey. You have always been there for me through my ups and downs and you are amazing for that. I swear its like you are my second father... :yujin-sus:

    um... kinda? Its very stressful. I have been giving snailmin a lot of updates... There had been times where she is like "What time is it for you" and I'm like "4AM" shes like "GIRL GO TO SLEEP" I just have to reply with "I cant" it sucks my schedule is wack and I'm tired af

    I'm in awe just how pop culturally aware u r of "incursions" n the Yoda/Grogu kerfuffle/"scandal" in the other thread.

    Just out of curiosity did u read abt "incursions" in Comics or just osmosis/awareness of MCU?(either way cool cool cool)

    I've never gotten much into comics but just the MCU and a little of the DCU (yes I know they don't call it incursions per se)

    I think if I was surrounded by comics or had a comic book store nearby when I was young I might have been interested in them

    "Incursion" is slightly new term/concept in last few years since Avengers/New Avengers by Hickman n then Secret Wars(which is next year's sub title of Avengers 6 MCU movie) maybe it was in Fantastic Four movie last year(?)

    As for comics, in school (primary 4 grade I think) the stationery/book store in school was like almost a little hut; it was supplied by an actual book store in the city n only opened maybe during recess for 20 or so minute every day or maybe a few times a week: I had some pocket money every week n the English/British comics came out weekly AND were sold in school, once I discovered this I bought Roy of the Rovers, Battle, Beano & Dandy IN SCHOOL(maybe not every week but at least a goodly amount - not sure if Eagle Comic was sold too but I know I bought tat for Dan Dare pilot of the Future for a good long stretch; not sure of timing when it was school holidays tho. I don't think I took the bus to the city by myself then; maybe after when I started High School or the December before or after.

    no comic store in my city until mid-80s n it was in a house I could walk to.

    in early 80s a regular Comics column started in national newspaper here n some time after a second started in different national newspaper n another biweekly(?) on Sundays(?) in another country just south of the border where my dad worked/commuted every day for abt 20 yrs. There was also a monthly magazine (South oftbeborder) mostly mysic but some pop culture n comics related stuff too.there was also a sporadic science fiction association magazine in the late 80s/early 90s.

    I remember the first comic I got was actually anime (so manga I guess) when I was still in China

    it was Saint Seiya and I still have fond memories of the series

    Were u like jaden smith in karate kid 2000s/2010s or like Lucas black in fnf Tokyo drift(kind of)? I only dealt with verbal stuff(quite tame looking bk), or some (once?) beating or being extorted money by random teen kids in a strange place in my country growing up I think but alienation n perpetual outsiderness/out of place simmering beneath in subconscious or random times was as bad as it got for me. I escaped into fantasy(literal as in printed books n comics) but in S.E.A escapism or out of place-ness isn't like in western movies. Even Asian films/media don't depict accurately or at least I only felt later on similarity/same-as-me-but-100% in movies/TV of late 90s/2000s/2010s/2020s maybe.

    I'm a overseas-chinese diaspora but I never rlly learned to read/write chinese(even till now) n mainly speak English+national language growing up n called banana after finishing high school(not feeling it measly just matter of fact smh) I think I was only one in my school tat I know of excluding my brothers(1 older different school n 1 younger same school but different session, he afternoon n I morning except sometimes 1/2 yrs overlapping)

    did u grow up in Australia or migrated later on? There's 2 famous celeb ftom my country: uncle roger n Ronnie Chieng but I think they both knew Mandarin or at least Ronnie Chieng grew up in a country of many non-Chinese many who didn't hv more than basic reading n writing Mandarin skills(which I don't even hv but my nephews do).

    I started writing the above before I went out to buy/eat dinner. Resumed 10:40pm but I find I hv no strong finish so just ending here. This has been my response to ur brutal honesty with rambling honesty of my own.

    tldr I feel yr growing-up experience cos same but different(but not as much/as half as bad as u experienced i think i had it pretty good growing up n even now in my opinion)     😞😅🥲😪

    No long term consequences for me from (not even) bullying/just-being-beaten-up-once; funny thing to me was a classmate who was friends/acquaintance with the beaters-up approached menext day (impression I had the was the beaters were remorseful/regretful but maybe my classmate was worried tho I rmbr all my classmates left my classroom/building after school I believe despite knowing wat was to come next) n asked me if i had treatment from doctors/medical staff so I told my mom the nurse after work n I was chkd for internal injuries. I'm still bullheaded n confront ppl just the other day I commented to 2 women on the subway abt procedure tho it wasn't risky/dangerous at all.

    Any childhood trauma/issues r not result of bullying/beating I don't think; any such r entirely my mental makeup(possible neurodivergent/non-conforming thinking; hv u watched the big bang theory or Young Sheldon TV show-the character Sheldon states vehemently he "isn't crazy, my mother had" him tested! Well I'm also not crazy but I believe I think differently from majority of ppl, which has its own lifelong effects in my life. Oh well.

    it's great to hear u r resilient AND sympathetic at same time-some ppl seem to think it's possible to survive everything just by "right thinking n attitude" ie be strong n grow from it rather than every person has individual response!

    PS u said in the fascinating(good fascinating to me not in any way bad) tat u would apologise if any one was affected by u(going overboard) I personally don't feel u did but one user did state being cyberbullied did mean her perspective tat u shd let Trinny/BS hv her opinion n trinny apologises but I think u overlooked the original comment or I dint notice u addressing her comment; only trinnys. Maybe it was partly the reason why I waded into sthg none of my business or I was just being a busybody n not actually thinking of u triggering tat user. Anyways nit to be policing u at all in fact I was just curious abt yr being bullied before n jumped into it without a second thought. Maybe my bad     🤷🤷‍♂️ for not being more thoughtful of others in tat thread.

    treat everyone according to their own circumstances - I've said it before two people having the same conversations can have completely different interpretations of said conversation and that's the same thing with trauma and bullying and literally everything else in life...which is why humans fascinate me in that we can be so different and also so similar

    The difference is where I personally go overboard towards the person I'm discussing things or joking with - in that thread and in that situation - it's TrinityJade - no one should claim that I'm bullying her or attacking her other than BS herself. If she mentions something I will stop and apologise straight away however one shouldn't doesn't get to state how someone else feels about the situation.

    i share partial similarity to OG Sheldon n Young Sheldon(in mh opinion Young Sheldon is NOT the childhood version of OG Sheldon from BBT; either OG Sheldon lied/misrmbrd details during original BBT or make up yr own theory; also young Missy doesnt realistically seemlike the character woulx grow up to be in BBT - no physical bullying as alluded to canonically in a short youtube FYP clip i just watched days ago. I grew up with a classmate who in layer yrs (once or twice i met him again - who might hv been autistic/mentallg challenged, actually another classmate n his younger brother may be more like Sheldon [he n his younger brother i heard were hermit-like/hikikomori(if u know this term) a few yrs ago last time iheard from another classmate - latter classmate super smart but socially not adept, he just nvr learnt social graces/customs [both were in same primary n maybe sevondary school] i might in between in intelligence n slightly more socially adept but not totally so i identify somewat with OG Sheldon; less so with you v Sheldon - he seems idealised version envisioned by the show's makers as he's main character whereas in BBT he was ensemble who was breakout star so deviated from original vision <even so from pilot to seties>.

    So i think I'm somewat between all these above n regular-conforming ppl slightly neuro divergent i believe but im nof crazy[tho my mother/parents nvr had me tested; one time i met my former classmate wax at hospital many yrs ago where we both had appointments; cant rmbr which dept i wrnt to but my friend(he who called me names in prkmary school thinking it was hilarious; tho now i think bk i dont hold it agajnst him) was with his dad n my impression at yhe time was he was seeing doctor for his mental health-in school I nvr noticed anything different other than vaguely annoyed by his name calling n his situational-unawareness ig but tat day talking with with his dad; his dad seemed happy to meet me (n looking bk i think he was glad his son knew me as a friend?) my impression was he'd regressed or he couldn't thrive or barely survive after finishing school (mostly I dint keep in touch until later on with school friends n mistle lost touch except sporadically after early/mid/late 2000s, some went overseas n a few passed away ard mid-2010s/2015-2018) with facebook/WhatsApp i can keep in touch but seldom or nvr reach our. TMI?

    When I was younger I thought I was smart to come up with the idea tat I was only sentient being in existence then I read abt solipsism n later Plato's cave n philosophical ideas. Tats as far as my intellect took me, not too deeply n my capacity/brain power/lazy thinking just couldn't process further: do u agree reality is like Pluto's cave - our senses dictate wat we perceive n thus believe is actual reality? Corollary hv u known/heard tat our eyes/sight is actually reverse/upside down n our brain reverses/turns right side up wat we see n processes it tat way?(I still not sure how it works/is known; if technically there's explanation/research/thought on how/what but cf above my non-smartness)

    I don't believe so!
    For me it was hearing BTS' "DNA" release in 2017. The MV and song is what got me hooked. After that I was drowning in BTS on Spotify. I eventually expanded into other groups like BP and RV. "Gangnam Style" was a huge hit internationally. I was 14 yo then when it came out and I didn't realize that it was even K-Pop. I just liked it. lol

    same I think one of the first kpop songs I heard from wonder girls nobody but I heard it whilst playing DDR so it never dawned on me that that was kpop and I think a lot of people's first experience with kpop was GS whether they realised it or not

    there is a reason why BTS are so good and one of (if not THE) top kpop group. It is very admirable to see where they were and how far they've become

Our Story
KpopSource began as a small blog called ksource, created by a dedicated K-Pop fan known as @Sourcekeeper. Frustrated by the decline of welcoming, discussion-driven communities, she set out to build something different — a space where fans could talk, connect, and stay for the long term.
