We had fire and tornado drills, and for that matter, my workplace still does them occasionally. Never had a "lockdown" or active shooter drill. I don't think my parents ever once thought that was something that could happen to me.

It's super confusing! But I know Sony were the animators behind it, and if I was Netflix, I'd try to keep things as original as possible. It's hard to replicate being literally the most successful film they've ever had, I wouldn't cheap out on animation at this point lol

Sony is the production company, Netflix is (currently) the distribution company. I'm not sure if Sony has also sold distribution rights to Netflix for this, but I bet Netflix is trying to get it.

Not really related, but whatever happened to SM's Trot group that was doing predebut releases and was supposed to debut, like, six months ago. Are they part of this SMTR25 thing?
