MY TAKE AWAYS: ​

• *That company* certainly has her under a non-disclosure agreement of the sort. Which means we won't have proper closure but also that we will all be forced to move on. ​

• Very Cherry sounds like an ambitious company but I'm worried about the ability to focus and narrow. CL and her team need to have clear releases that target a certain industry, which I assume will be SK and the US. This is needed in order to have substantial (in length and content) promotion cycles that creates concreted responses by a designated audience. Which in turn makes a specific market(s) for a artist to draw fans and general listeners from. I didn't really see this for ITNL or the Alpha releases. ​

• CL needs to rebuild a new fandom. I don't believe the average kpop fan should be the desired audience. From kpop forums and the drama going on Kpop stan twiter with Blinks n Armies, most fans seem indifferent if not hostile to CL. Its not a great sampling poll but its the only ones I have for a large sample of Kpop fans and social media drives the whole affair. I don't know how the general Korean audience feels about CL or if 2NE1 made that cross from a idol group with general public appeal to artist the gp loves. I actually think AOMG has the perfect audience for CL so hopefully she begins to associate with them. ​

1. I think we can agree that they came to an agreement which I think is fine, I mean it's not like I don't want to know what happened but it won't do any good for the parties to be involved in scandals, esp. for the company.

2. As far as I know Very Cherry is not a formal company, like MZ entertainment (at least not yet) more like a group of people collaborating with her but independent for the most part. The only formal managing or company she's related to are the Korean distributor (Kakao M if I'm not mistaken) and Scooter in the US. She also has a good relationship with the DPR team and if you ask me, I see her going more towards them rather than AOMG because they're doing really nice stuff, avant-garde even and I feel like CL's music is evolving towards a new, not-traditional approach.

3. Agree 100%. I think she needs to focus on a target because it's clear she's not going to survive only on BJ's which are out of the kpop scene for the most part. Appealing to a more adult and international audience seems like the logical option, she already has a niche there. Not sure about Korea though, I guess doing some variety can put her back into the map there, it worked for Bom.

This is one of her best collaborations. From now on I really want to see CL collaborate with people in Korea like Epik High, so more hip hop, rnb, indie, and non-idol pop musicians. They really bring out something in CL.

2. The article referred to it as a company but Blackjacks and gizib's got that it was some type of collective from her release statement. Honestly I'm confused lol. I like DPR visuals tbh their music to me does not reach AOMG's quality. And their audience is still rather small and growing, and not at this major kpop-khip hop-general audience cross that AOMG is. I don't think she should sign with AOMG (though I wish she had ) but just have them in her wider network, as a indie artist she needs to have multiple established acts or companies she has connects with. With AOMG I would love to see one of their producers work extensively with her, and a artist do a major ft with her and maybe CL does one to or a B-side.

3. Yup she really has more chance with the Korean general public in their 20's and 30's, and yes regulars variety appearances and music show performances are the way to go. For international audiences I think she should release English songs (not difficult for her) and do collaborations with any of the artist she worked with in the past are still interested or if Scott Braun does his job right. Like I would LOVE CL to work with Rina Sawayama or any other rising pop artist in the West. Or one of Braun's artist even.

I know it's not a good thing to generalize but akgaes are essentially toxic, no matter the fandom. I check on some Bomshell accounts searching for news about Bom or new content (the things I do for her, sigh...) and I always find all kind of drama; GZBs vs POS, POS vs Bomshells or Daralings and don't make me start with Blonks/ BP akgaes, that is never ending.

Akages are that frienemy in the group that only really likes that one person but hangs out in the wider friend circle while being mean to everyone else. There are some members of groups Im not a fan of that I solo stan (ex: Jessica, Tiffany, and Taeyeon) but I don’t hate the group.
