3rd/4th gen ggs and the main difference i think that 1st/2nd gen ggs dont have is inter-group/inter-company friendship/mentorship across generations!
So what i mean is that lately, mostly this year (but maybe it started earlier n i just nvr noticed it b4) iv been seeing a lot of inter-company/inter-group/cross-generation mentorships/friendships in kpop ggs. Eg:
There's also IU n her fan-girling over Oh My Girl on her web show n numerous other examples. Now , what i think the difference was between why 1st/2nd gen ggs arent as close knit is becos by the time 2nd gen debuted, most of the 1st gen ggs were disbanded/on hiatus/gone on to solo careers like Lee Hyori, Yoon Eunhye n so many others.
Also why 2nd gen didnt hv the same inter-company/inter-group friendships/relationships except maybe 1 -SNSD/f(x), was becos it was too competitive n they/the companies tried to control or otherwise convince the ggs it was a 'Hunger Games' type market, where only 1 could be the champion(altho it turned tat the pie kept getting bigger n if only the ggs hadnt self-destructed themselves mostly, they could hv helped each other achieve longevity n even more success but only at the cost of their companies losing out). Or so it seems to me.
If you watch the above video, do you agree tat 3rd gen/4th gen ggs are more close-knit than 1st/2nd gen ggs? Do you agree with my statement tat 2nd gen ggs mostly self-destructed themselves by hving a winner-take-all mentality fostered by their companies/fans? Do you love how inter-group/inter-company ggs of 3rd/4th gen can hv friendships n mentorships with other groups/companies' members now?
Tell me if u agree or disagree with my questions, or where im wrong with my statements/errors in my presumption of facts.
