clarifyng that its not finding some1 attractive making them sexist. its the fact that they automatically dismiss things stereotyped as something a 15 yr old girl would like as dumb and frivolous and not as important as their ~superior~ taste in nirvana and the beatles or whatever the hell

oh yeah, I mean I like all of these, but honestly I kinda feel like saying "only fifteen year olds listen to bts" or something similar to that is kind of supposed to be a negative thing? so who are we putting down here? bts? 15-year-old teenagers? because they are breathing, thinking human beings? everyone can like whatever they like.

I´m not 15 but I like BTS, what does it make me? :D if it makes me comparable with 15-year-olds is that a bad thing? guess I´m staying young.

It's sad how the groups promotes anti-bullying and the fandom is toxic & continues to bully other people for having different opinions. Suhyun's situation is just one of many. And it's just sad.

Is this okay? No I don't think so.

I love BTS. I hate the fandom. And that's for every group to be honest. We all just need some more respect I guess.

I feel like people should spend a little bit more time defending Suhyun, because this is just awful. I don't understand people whining about their fandom being stereotyped when Suhyun was being bullied.

The thread was not even about Suhyun to begin with. It was about James Corden stereotyping ARMY as 15 years old when it's not even a problem to be a 15 years old fangirl but as usual when ARMY are trying to voice out their opinion on the stereotypes that they are submitting to, some people will try to shut them down with the toxic ARMY card.

I love Suhyun from the bottom of my heart and I was really sad when I saw that happened to her. These two accidents can be treated differently though, I am not saying that these ARMY don't deserve criticism for their vile behavior. It's not because some ARMY bullied Suhyun that we can't call out the stereotypse against ARMY. And no, it's not just a bunch of brainless and toxic fangirls "whining" about their fandom receiving hate. It's about the fact that Corden's joke was mysogynistic because it's again a way to downplay women's interest and make them pass for hormonal fangirls.

From my unbiased pov (I am going into this unbiased, I'm not on anyone's side because I consider the users fighting to be my friends) I don't see Dami saying anything wrong? Maybe because I'm not a diehard BTS fan but if, for example, someone called Choices immature, it wouldn't bother me? So I don't see how exactly someone should get offended because at the end of the day people should realize (I realized immediately) that he wasn't generalizing a fandom and instead calling out ARMYs who decided to act horribly. Because yes, there was OBVIOUSLY BTS fans in Suhyun's live, there's no denying that. They said disgusting things to her and I feel really bad about what happened to her.

There's no excuse for what they (Toxic ARMYs) did. But that doesn't mean ARMYs should be generalized, right? I can understand this part and why the ARMYs here are getting upset. Getting constantly generalized and hated on would take a toll on anyone. This piece, I understand.

And about James Corden calling ARMYs 15-year-olds. Honestly, this is what's blowing my mind, that you guys are getting pressed over what some fat little British man whose opinions mean nothing said. It's obvious he was trying to be funny (didn't work, as usual) and grasped at the most overused joke in the book. And y'all still getting offended over it? THIS CONTRIBUTES TO THE PROBLEM. If you don't want to be called overprotective whiny fangirls, don't act like ones? It's that simple.

And the whole, "oMg hE wAs bEiNg mIsOgYnIsTiC" Shut up. Literally shut up. I cannot afford to lose any more braincells, I have a test coming up. Tying it all together, here is my view: ARMYs should not have been generalized as 15-year-old girls, they have a right to be offended because it's absolutely not true. But getting so worked up to the point of canceling him and bringing his show ratings down (which I am all for btw, I hate that guy) is only adding to the problem. You can get butthurt all you want, you can scream and cry and shout on Twitter, but you're just proving his point.

It's not really nice of you to tell people to shut up just because we don't agree with you. You think that it's a harmless joke, we don't see it this way and we have our reasons. Nobody here agreed with cancelling him and bringing his show ratings down or even about crying on Twitter. It happened to him and I even feel sorry about that.

You know what was my first reaction when I saw his lame joke ? I laughed and I told my ARMY friend that I don't really care about what James Corden have to say about me. I am not a brainless 15 years old fangirl and the 15 years old girls who support BTS are so much more that what he said. She answered me that even if it's a joke, it's tiring to always be reducted to the hormonal young fangirl stereotype. It happens to ARMY so many times with medias and Corden was joking but some were really serious about it. Why do you think that pop music is depreciated compared to to others genres ? Because it mainly supported by women.

He is a comedian yes, except that it happened to BTS and their "hormonal toxic fanbase" many times. When they are belittling ARMY taste like that they are also downplaying the group.
