Highly disagree. SNSD's debut song is still regarded as one of the most influential 2nd gen songs of all time. It's constantly used in protests in Korea as a symbol of freedom and strength. The song aside, SNSD's debut was incredibly different due to the amount of members. They were definitely something special. Plus the song was pretty public-friendly, unlike Happiness and Black Mamba.

Black Mamba.... IS very public friendly though?
And SNSD's debut wasn't the icon it is now straight from day 1.

I'm talking about the songs, Aespa' concept with the AI members is unique as well. I was talking about the debut songs!

And Happiness was DEFINITELY GP friendly as well, not quite to the amount of ITNW and Black Mamba, but definitely GP friendly.

I think the I meant more that the public didn't like Happiness. From what I've seen, most people don't seen to like Black Mamba too much, but I've mainly seen international fans. Happiness was seen as a "flop".

The AI concept isn't really unique, K/DA already has that.

It's still unique, K/DA isn't a group that's going to promote on music shows and be pushed to the general public.
It's on it's own corner of the internet with a very specific target audience. Aespa is trying to target the general public

just because the GP doesn't necessarily like it, doesn't mean it wasn't meant for the GP so to say.

They released it for the GP, but the GP doesn't want it. That's more so what I intended to say.

a. they're from sm
b. they're RV's successors

The day kpop stans accept their faves aren't perfect is the day world violence will end. I saw a lot of people saying that people finding the A.I concept creepy was being an "anti".

lol. Honestly, I don't mean to shade Aespa. especially not on their debut thread, but I was rather unphased by the AI concept. I preferred the mamba in the train, the ominous looking black claws clutching what's her name [honestly, I don't know their names. lol] and then the puff of pink/red smoke. I thought that part was really dope..

But to your point. I think a lot of people are of the mentality, "If you don't like it don't listen to it..." but when a song or group is debuting we don't know what the song sounds like, so its not like going to rave and acting surprised when someone offers us MDMA... lmao.. But I'm used to stans [even outside of K-Pop] getting upset. True story: When I was on akp I got annoyed that people thought that sales=talent so I made a snarky comment that just because Twice was successful didn't mean they were talented. Not that I hate Twice, but some of the fans on there were annoying me.. Anyway long story short this guy throws this huge tantrum... And then I noticed that his reply to me was the first post he made on akp...

Alas, I think with regard to mass media people/fans/stans just work themselves up when any criticism gets involved.
