im like this with justin bieber. back in the day he seemed like a genuinely good kid, a little bratty and naive sometimes sure but he was a tween,,, tweens are bratty that's what they do.

but all the unwarranted hate and mockery from the general public completely ruined him, i cant help but feel sad when i look at him now. he went from this super cheerful, always happy-go-lucky kid to barely ever showing a genuine smile in public anymore. it just makes me so sad and angry for him, we as a society completely failed him.

Honestly, he created his fair share of problems and bears responsibility for them. However, I do find him luckier than most given that he started prior to the end of the decade and as such bared little consequences for specific situations that would end many new celebs career now.

mostly the us is pretty tolerant of ass hatire in its stars.
They have to effort to really get killed. But once they do get to that point there is almost no coming back.

RDJ was mostly just a f up who took decades to recraft his image.

I can see that young and stupid does stick after it hits that point (many of the Disney kids) or like really spectacular arrest photos.

bottom line stars in the us are disposable. sports acting music what ever. When they forget that, people will turn on them.

If it'd be any, it possibly is Ahmed Best, because he's the actor portraying Jar Jar Binks. He got so much hate over the years that he even considered suicide.

Just for the record; Jar Jar Binks is possibly my favourite Star Wars character and one of my favourite characters ever.

he was literally 15 years old when he was thrust into stardom and became the biggest global sensation. he didnt even done anything wrong to justify all the hate he received up until 2014, 6 years after his debut when the first real cracks started to form. so why were grown men and women bullying and mocking a teenage boy for his looks & voice ????? and why was it so normalized ? why was everyone treating this kid like hes a pest and expecting him to grow up normal?

im not saying he never made a single mistake in his life and shouldnt be held responsible for the things he did wrong, but it drives me up the wall when people refuse to acknowledge that the awful treatment he received from the public and industry at such a young age led him off the deep end ad played a huge role in his struggles with mental health & substance abuse

also im curious what career-ending situations you're talking about specifically? DUI and getting into physical altercations with paparazzi is by far the worst hes done, both of which happened when he was at his lowest circa 2014, but he never made the same mistake twice, instead he learned from it and reflected on it, something that cant be said for most people

Yes. As well as Jake Lloyd, which could be even worse because Jake was even younger when he did the character. To be honest, these news took me by surprise when I heard about them. It never crossed my mind there are people who hate actors for doing certain characters they dislike. The thing with Best got me stronger, possibly because it involves Jar Jar.

Not really the same franchise, but Anna Gunn from Breaking Bad received death threats because people hated the actions of her character and her character in general. While her character could be condescending and sanctimonious she was just a character. not a real person.. and even if they were they still did not deserve death threats.
