BTS’ Jungkook’s single Euphoria used in HBO’s Euphoria finale
metro.co.uk
BTS have well and truly taken over the music industry and now they’re taking over TV as well. Band member Jungkook’s solo single Euphoria, which was released in 2018 and was part of BTS’ album Love Yourself: Answer was played as background music for the final episode of the HBO drama of the same name, Euphoria. The song played over a scene which saw Ethan (Austin Abrams) and Kat (Barbie Ferreira) kiss after months of pining on Ethan’s side, but fans were more obsessed with the idea that it meant BTS were now on an official soundtrack. ‘Jungkook’s Euphoria was played as background music for the final episode of Euphoria from HBO. @BTS_twt you have an OST now! Congratulations!’ shared fan site BTS Europe.
The inclusion in the controversial teen drama comes as the K-Pop band teamed up with UNICEF for an anti-bullying campaign. The K-pop boyband joined forces with the charity for its latest project #ENDviolence, which aims to promote kindness and end bullying in schools. The clip features the group’s single Answer: Love Myself, which features the lyrics: ‘You’ve shown me I have reasons/ I should love myself.’ It flits through harrowing scenes of bullying in school, from teens crying alone in toilet cubicles to getting attacked in a playground.
But as the narrative develops, the students start to find solace in each other and realise they have support in their peers. The video, which was released on the International Day of Friendship on July 30, is titled: ‘BTS (purple heart emoji) show the power of love and kindness.’
