Seems like both sides are blaming each other but would make more sense to me if this is a power play from Spotify as Kakao M is the main distributor of Kpop and not having them on the Korean version of Spotify will hurt but Kakao M would just be creating their own competition in allowing that.

Having to negotiate both contracts at the same time though seems more beneficial to Spotify as now they can use that as leverage for getting what they want out of the Korean version.

Sooo basically we just gotta wait for them to negotiate the domestic contract through so they can renew the global one...
At least we know that we will prolly get our music back sooner or later

Well Spotify did say in their statement that they hope this disruption is temporary so they should be back eventually.

Some artists' songs like Hyuna, Jessi and others have already been reuploaded after switching distributors but they've lost their old streams. We'll see if Spotify adjusts the streaming numbers to reflect the more accurate score.
