I'm right now checking out a group because one of my biases is a huge fan of one of the members. What about you?

I don't think it's ever happened since I try to listen to everyone at least once so it's rare that I don't know about a kpop group or their music

Golden Child's leader is Sungyeol's younger brother... Literally the only reason I had a reason to check them out. Sungyeol isn't my bias in infinite, but... its the closest thing.... Wait no thats not true. I watched an episode of Running Man with Sistar on it. Only reason I watched was for sistar, but it did introduce me to Shownu, my bias in MonstaX.. So implicitly my bias [Hyolyn] did lead me to MonstaX.

Sort of, I mean BtoB being on Kingdom has led me to listen to Stray Kids.

I naturally check out other groups whenever they release something, so not really being lead to them by my biases

but its in different ways.
a) i only saw gfriend because i was watching mcountdown live for snsd.
b) i checked out both lovelyz and OMG because of snsd covers on WI. truth be told probably more groups i do not remember. (also poor snsd covers have killed groups. like finding momoland's itnw)
c) fx i looked into because of jessica -> Krystal.
d) Most of the IY 1 groups because of sunny yuri.

and i only checked out AKB because i saw them on a show with SNSD.

at its core i only know kpop because of snsd bringing me in.

but i can not recal ever checking out a song or group because they recommended it, if that is what you are asking.
maybe if i heard it in a show... dont know.

Hmmm no not when they talk about Kpop groups, but I have checked out a Japanese rock band after Kenta (JBJ) mentioned that they were one of his favorite artists. I don’t remember their name though.

Oh lord.. Definitely! 2 examples of this:

Kingdom's Dann + Arthur got me into their former group, Varsity. I have 0 regrets since I do enjoy their music!

This ones a bit longer but:
1the9 got me into Just B and WEi (Just B: Doyum WEi: Yongha + Junseo). WEi got me into JBJ and X1 (JBJ: Donghan X1: Yohan).

tbh this is one of my favorite things.. the satisfaction of finding new groups from groups you've liked before.
