Do you think it's rude to ask your friend's friends and siblings about your friend? (1 Viewer)

I asked my church friend, B's friends about her on instagram and then she got mad at me and said "don't contact me, my family and friends ever again!" after she haven't answered my calls or responded my texts in 2 years. then she told her friends to block me. like damn! I thought she was nice and cool to talk to .I didn't speak evil of her or gossiped about her. I just asked them how she was doing, how come she's not updating on instagram anymore and they told me she was taking a break and wasn't talking to anyone. She thought I got mad at her for waving at me but I got mad at her mom for telling her not to wave at me. her mom needs to leave B alone. B was just being friendly s=and interacting with people. Her friend told me that B has a history of mentally Ill, has a hard time communicating, gets compulsive and get sick easily.

Do you have friends like that?

Depends what you ask i guess, but i'd rather be asked in person unless it's something more generic and comes up during talk anyways. But if i have certain topic you want to know of about person then u should ask that person.

I personally think you can ask it within reason. Like I talk about my friends to other friends and family etc.
But only certain topics and nothing too personal or prying. Because it doesn't look too good if a bad word got out then it spreads like wildfire.

With in reason and not digging for gossip or anything intrusive... Unless it's a matter of concern for their well being. But mostly innocent questions are ok to ask. If anyone flips out over innocent questions asked then I'd be concerned the friend was hiding something. One can simply talk to you and explain they did not appreciate what you did.

Damn how did you ask to get your friend to dump you and cut you off? If it's asimple as you said she had no right to behave that way. How are they doing falls under innocent.

I think in your specific case, it should have been okay.. not sure what caused this kind of reaction since I don't know enough about it all 😅
