Do you think Luna fits as a Ravenclaw? (1 Viewer)

Let me make it blatantly obvious I'm gonna review ( @dubudae ) the Sorting Hat's decision for Luna.

Luna Lovegood plays one of my favorite characters in the series. My family and I always talk about Harry Potter every reunion/gathering. Luna Lovegood moonlighting as a Hufflepuff always gets brought up. Dictionary.com describes Hufflepuffs as members that are patient, fair, hard-working, and sometimes blandly nice. They're also known the be quirky House.

Luna's scene with the Thestrals is I think a good example why she could have been Hufflepuff. It shows her true kindness.
Only people who have witnessed death can see them and those who have normally avoid them since they aren't pleasant to look at. And then here comes Luna out there barefoot walking alongside them. She doesn't avoid them as others do and feeds a baby foal. Adorable!


She's a very gentle eccentric being and extremely helpful.
Let's also not forget how smart and helpful she is. She did help Harry during key moments like finding the last diadem which is where I think the hat was right sorting her into Ravenclaw.

Ngl I wondered about her being in Ravenclaw. I don’t think she’s dumb by any means but her beliefs in things that couldn’t be proven just made me feel like she might belong better in a different house, I got the impression Ravenclaw were more like Hermione in that sense.

But bravery isn't not being scared, it's facing your fears, not doing smth most people are scared of, but you aren't

Idk, I think bravery can be both of those things. And I think Luna could have fit well into Gryffindor tbh, so if they remind you of Luna that would make sense in my view

I remember my friends thought I wasn't scared of anything in 7th grade bc one asked me if I would be scared if a stranger with a knife followed me in an alley and I said no

i see your point, but i dont agree - people tend to focus on her quirkiness, but shes really smart (one of the smartest characters in the series id argue), perceptive and clearly creative. she was thinking outside of the box, was open-mided, had a different perspective on things. she was the one to suggest to harry that rovenas diadem could be one of the horcruxes he was looking for. ravenclaw is also full of excentric characters, like prof trelawney or moaning myrtle, id argue that most geniuses dont really think like everybody else, so for me shes a perfect fit

I think Luna is the perfect Ravenclaw. Wicked smart, witty, thinks well in or out of the box. a real creative person.

That she also has a calm and pleasant outlook is something any house could have :)
