how do you feel about jonghyun's songs (meaning that he made not just his solos)?

I admire his ability to compose songs and write lyrics, and how they're written to fit the person they're for in some cases. I find some of them boring, but still appreciate the songs that may have nice lyrics but sound boring and vice versa. I still wouldn't say I like the boring ones, but there's something to appreciate there.

I don't overrate a song just because the artist is involved.

I have the greatest respect for artists who do everything themselves, from songwriting to the production of the MV (hello Sunmi, hello 'Stranger'). But in the end, it's all about the result. 'Stranger' is an amazing song, I'm also a big fan of the MV and its Tim Burton vibes. Mission accomplished!

But there are also very good production teams in K-Pop. What would be some of the best Dreamcatcher songs without Ollounder and LEEZ?
Ideally songwriters and producers should be advisors while the artists should be always involved in the production process if they wish. At least there should be the option for artists to contribute their own songs to an album. Side effect: a larger selection of songs, more full albums.

I was thinking about that too, that a song isn't inherently not special just because it was made by someone outside of the group. Dreamcatcher's special relationship with Ollounder and LEEZ is one obvious example. Shinsadong Tiger's last gift of Diamond to TRI.BE as another.

If I'm a fan, I usually support it anyway but I do think that it's amazing when KPOP idols get the opportunity to help create the song!

Ill agree with the OP.

There was a brief period in time where i thought singer song writers were better, but its just more skills not better skills.

Totally makes sense especially for bands or indie acts to do a large amount of that work.

Its super for folks ya like to be involved because there is long term money in music and lyrics. People have lived their whole lives on just the profits from A hit. So it makes me happy when they are involved.

As to the rest of the pieces to a song/performance/album they are collaboration's the artist ideally should be more involved than just do this ok go home.

I do think that some times having a skill for a certain vibe can have an adverse effect on versatility.

But say do i like wish you hell or 28 reasons more than say Hello, 4 seasons, or red flavor because Wendy and Seulgi had more creative control than Joy, Taeyeon, or Red Velvet. not even close.
