I wanna know your unpopular opinions!! Be nice please, don't slander other idols a ton. I'll drop some of mine too!!

1) I think girl group choreos are nicer to watch

2) A lot of the 'bests' in kpop has to do more with popularity. Like a lot of people say Lisa is the best dancer and rapper, I think thats not true at all. She's talented, but I do think there are better people in the industry.

3) Kpop has always been toxic, but the newer stans have definitely caused it to be blown up more and more noticed. (Sorry?? idk)

4) I don't think you have to stan a whole group. I think you can stan one or two idols or whatever. As long as you aren't actively sending hate to other members in the group that you don't stan.

I'd love to hear yours and if you want you can debate mine, I don't really mind hearing other sides of the story. As long as you're kind!!

I think kpop would be better if they wrote their own songs and didn;t replace their members. Some groups don't do that but some do. Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE kpop but...

• I think YG is the worst company

• it doesn't make a group worse if their lyrics aren't deep and meaningful, pop singers aren't meant to be poets all the time. if you expect deep philosophical messages in a genre where some of the greatest hits are titled "gee" "sorry sorry" or "ring ding dong" then that's on you
• i prefer easy choreos so that a group can actually sing live. i know idols themselves aren't really responsible for whether they sing live or not but why would a company make them spend hours on vocal training and then never make them sing
• retro concept is the best thing to happen to kpop
• all kpop idols are probably more or less problematic and saying "idol name would never do such thing" can backfire really badly so you shouldn't feel morally superior because your favourite group hasn't had a major fuck-up
• fandoms are considered toxic just because of big they are. if a certain group of people consists of 4 "toxic" ones and 6 normal ones it's obvious it will make less noise as a group of people with 200 toxic people and 300 normal ones even if the percentage is the same. bad people are bad people, it doesn't matter what kpop group they like
• sometimes you've just got to accept that a group's music is not and will never be your thing instead of whining how they should cater to your preferences. it's fine if you don't like the songs a group puts out right now as much as you did with their older ones but the older music isn't going anywhere so you can listen to it all you want instead of complaining. it's a damned if you do damned if you don't situation because the kpop fandom wants groups to be versatile and always do the same thing at once.

2. BTS didnt really pave the way imo there are groups that paved the way for them, so BTS didnt pave the way,, at least not for all of kpop
