Like I said, it's just a guide lol. There are exceptions of course, and opportunities to apply to delay. I just remember Baek saying they couldn't plan anything because they knew he would enlist but not when.

Kai just said on instalive that he only found out today as well so it really just sounds like the military pulled his name out for the next intake last minute and sent him his letter.
Maybe because of the draft dodging they lost a lot of public service workers in a short amount of time so are doing an extra intake earlier than planned to try to cover the shortage.

From all I've seen it looks like everyone has been blindsided by this intake, I don't think it was SM's screw up (although I get the inclination to blame them lol) just the military doing what the military does best, screwing people over lol.

Yeah, the whole loss of public service workers is a likely possible culprit. If so, it sucks for all of those people who didn't try to get out of serving, they're now being screwed over by the military for following the rules.

It depends on their service type. Public service has less frequent intake dates than active duty so can often be very last minute. Remember when Baekhyun had to enlist, he couldn't promote his album because they knew he would enlist very shortly but didn't know exactly when so couldn't plan/book anything.


When it comes to enlistments in general it's usually up to 6mo after their birthday but they can get called earlier as Minhyuk did. So Kihyun is likely to be end of this month/beginning of June, HW around Julyish, and Sehun Octoberish. Anything could happen/change though and they can apply to delay for certain reasons so this isn't concrete, more a general guide lol.

When baekhyun had to enlist I thought that was the latest possible day honestly , his 29 th birthday so 30 th birthday korean age, and he kept delaying it to get to that point, but then 93 and 94 liners have been enlisting much later. even Shownu enlisted a month after his birthday being 92 like baek. So it was very confusing bc of baek’s
