I just have a weird feeling SM was trying to pull a snsd 2.0 on them by restricting some of their solo activities until now. Although I understand group activities make fans happy, solo activities and exploration keep kpop idols satisfied with their careers and allow them to make some extra $.

Yeah definitely, EXO as a group are such cash cows due to which they might have restricted their solo stuff, although 7 years into their career they should really get that freedom and opportunities to just be creatively satisfied as an artist. And tbh EXO haven't been too busy as a group lately so they could've done some stuff for him had they wanted, I hope its better once he's back atleast.

i think the rumours were saying he wanted to leave sm. so i guess resigning doesn't matter if he wanted to break contract. maybe that was something he was considering.

anyway his news makes more sense now. he's coming back in time for this movie's production. it's better to enlist now than after its release

Sudden, but at the same time he’s actually only enlisting a year early. He was born in January 1993, and given how Koreans follow the Chinese calendar, he’s 28 in Korean age like EXO’s ‘92 line. It makes to enlist July 1st as he’ll be back for Along With the God’s, but also it won’t have been long since ‘92 line enlisted. Minseok will be back a month before him and Junmyeon (depending on when he enlists) won’t be far behind either.

I’m so sad, I want to cry. I felt super upset over Xiumin’s enlistment for his one we were all expecting it. So I was kind of ready. This one just came out of nowhere. But I’ll get over it. I’m wishing him a smooth and healthy service.

And his note is very Kyungsoo like. I’m going to miss him so much but at the same time I’d rather they all just get it over and done with so we can have them all back together sooner. And now I’m kind of hoping the rest of the boys enlist soon too. I just want it to be over ASAP.

Yes me too! We barely have any solo music from him so I hope we get something before he goes. I doubt SM will give him a solo but I hope he gets a station song like Xiumin at least.

all i remember is him saying he'll release something february 2018 and sm screwed him over :( they better give him something!!!!
