I think one thing that goes understated when it comes to minors is the impact the public can have on destroying some of them like Britney Spears is obviously the most famous example but even in Kpop you could take Sulli as an example there.

Once idols are in the public eye you realistically cannot protect them no matter how much a company tries and that's dangerous exposure at any age but especially when you're young and quite impressionable.

I do think the focus on men is pretty overdone as while there is going to be more stories about men-women just because of prominent natures however you also hear it about women-men.

Take for example I remember hearing about people counting down to some of the Dream members 18th birthdays and while it's all well and good to think it's just online but idols are public figures and there's a real chance of them interacting with these people.
