Hybe and Min Hee-jin Civil War megathread.

According to entertainment insiders, Hybe launched an investigation of Ador CEO Min Heejin and VP L on 22 Apr. Hybe audit team reportedly visited the workspace of the Ador's executives to retrieve computer assets and secure witness statements.

Allegedly Hybe’s audit team caught them leaking confidential contracts to attract investors and discussing ways to induce Hybe to sell its shares in Ador. Currently Hybe owns 80% of the Ador while the remaining 20% is held by Ador execs (MHJ was granted 18% last year)

Hybe believes that L used his position to pass insider information about Hybe to Ador. A CPA by training, L was part of the investor relations team in Hybe’s finance department and worked on Hybe’s IPO before moving to Ador earlier this year.

L is suspected of feeding Ador confidential documents, trade secrets and other info necessary to separate Ador from Hybe since he began at Hybe. He is reportedly referred to as Min Heejin’s right hand man.

Hybe plans to pursue legal action if necessary.

Hybe confirms that they did initiate an audit against some executives due to a belief those executives were trying to take control of Ador.

This is utterly bonkers.

I can see how MHJ might feel some kind of way about not getting 100% proceeds of her work and having the parent label copy her vision.
But like, the same thing happened to Teddy and you just know he's just peacefully lounging in the Black Label rec room, smoking weed and not making music.

(and he has a better case because he actually made the music rather than just curating it!)

This is interesting. I can kind of understand her concern, given that New Jeans is still very new, you don't want your own network of labels creating a knock-off. Copycats are inevitable, but I remember when NMIXX and Itzy both used Alice in Wonderland motifs (even though Cheshire and Dice sound nothing alike as songs) and people were critical over how sloppy that was, that MHJ would feel the need to protect her group from feeling like a dime a dozen from the same company.

That said, trying to secretly sell the company out from under HYBE is bonkers. Like how tf did they think that would go.

Right, or escalate it up the chain internally of "Hey, we're seeing a lot of comparisons online. How can we make sure ILLIT and New Jeans have their own colors?" Like any company with some common sense wouldn't want their own fans to treat the groups as effectively interchangeable.

and she claims that she did and was ignored by Hybe/Bang PD but I would say even if that is the case she should not have resorted to the "low road" and instead taken the high one to elevate NJ instead of potentially dragging down both groups...

if I create a product (group) and it becomes super successful I know I'll get copycats - imitators etc etc

what do I do - I should make my product the best make it stand out amongst the sea of imitations and let my work dictate why you should consume my product instead of the wannabes

i dont like her but she is lying about it. Like, everyone was even joking and shading that ILLIT really looks like a copy of NJ.
A cheap copy in my opinion bc just like most HYBE groups, they are only focused on aesthetic and Zero in talent and that is why just like LS, ILLIT was also being criticized bc they dont know how to sing and this when we can be sure that Hybe didn't created neither was in full control of NJ bc if they did it would be another lackluster group with poor vocals

If they had told me that "she started this in 2022" i would had agree with them but like 2 month before ILLIT had debuted it makes totally sense. She most likely as a CEO heard about it or even saw it when the girls was practice for their debut.


Anyway, praying this doesn't end up like Fifty Fifty case 😬

this sounds exactly like 5050 my friend except 5050 was from a small company and this is Hybe and Ador and NJ (one of the biggest GG right now)
