Strong disagree here.

Firstly, it isn't "rent" as far as I can tell but a down payment, or a deposit. IE, it is not a regular monthly expense, but a one-off expense that would have to be fortuitously timed as an alibi. Totally inconceivable.

Secondly, the "insider information", according to HYBE, is their intention to make public a dispute. I made a whole post about the difficulty in proving this intention, but let's be concrete about it:

I once had a boss say to me, "If you do X, I will kill you." Literally their exact words, and it was genuinely meant to deter me from doing X, and it was genuinely said out of anger. That doesn't mean I can report them for attempted murder. Now, if they went and bought a gun, then maybe.

you could report them for just the threat. hostile work environment ect.

I think the line on stock manipulation/insider trading is much more fluid. If ppl can go down for just mentioning to someone that now may be a good time to sell.
a discussion about ramifications of possible actions is relevant especially if said actions happen.

other thing is did they have to have that money especially to pay for what ever it was unexpectedly.

For example, in this instance, they could have said,

That's the statement a normal company would give. You only present evidence in court, or to authorities, not to the press. Unless your goal is to actually win some kind of PR battle. This has been a consistent theme. But by making it public, they guaranteed reputational damage to themselves either way. Instead of taking the chance that MHJ might keep quiet.
(for the record, I don't think she would keep quiet, but if I was an exec at HYBE, I would be keeping in mind my duty to shareholders and I wouldn't be the one to explode the bomb)

The VP couldn't have known that:
1. HYBE would do an audit
2. HYBE would publicly announce the audit
3. That all of this would happen within two weeks

EVEN IF we say that the statements made in the Kakaotalk conversations were 100% serious and they were planning on reporting HYBE to the Fair Trade Commission, knowing that it would tank the stock... How do we know that they intended to do it in the timeframe that the VP would have benefited from his sold stock? Maybe they were going to do it in a year. Maybe they were going to do it near NewJeans' contract renewal. etc.

Legal battle aside it appears it got personal. to me on both sides.

For example reports said hey nj and ill are not family. nj got plenty of family help mv placement ect from hybe .

Hybe had that whole tv game retreat with all teh ppl but nj if remember (maybe they had not debut)


Hybe seems much more involved in teh sub companies than say SM.
Cant remember SM ever having issues with say Woollim or Mystic.

The only thing i felt that they didn't mentioned much was HYBE accusations. I haven't seen what knetz think of those accusations but then again to me it feels HYBE actually have no proves to the things they are accusing her.

It's interesting, I always assumed LSM was extremely controlling, but he managed to have MHJ working for him for years without any public blow-ups. I can imagine that Yoo Young-jin and Kenzie also commanded a lot of clout without that causing an issue.

I think he was good at long term planning small details and getting ppl to work together.
The very stark contrast in the type and frequency of sm artist interactions speaks to his culture.
for all the chatter about SM being very corporate. the Idols seem to actually know and interact much more often that other agencies.
And tehy appear to be close to staff for real showing up at weddings ect.

mhj may of had some budget constraints (eg she financed the pink tape art film herself iirc) but she was essentially given free reigns during her time at sm, and you see many of their idols speak fondly of lsm too, han geng stands out among them
he had a vision, and I think he did go a bit crazy near the end, but he was good enough with getting the right people to make it work for the most part
