I don't care about awards (1 Viewer)

I have come to this point in my kpop standom, where I do not care about awards at all.
I do not care who is more successful
I do not care who takes home what award.
I don't vote or pay attention to who won what vote.

All I want is for my faves to be successful.
I don't care how that success relates to others as long as they themselves are happy and bringing home that bag.

It does not matter to me at all anymore. I love the group, not the awards. The awards the group wins or doesn't win, will not affect me at all... So why TF should I care about them or pay attention to them.

I think it depends on where the group is as it's easy enough for me to ignore awards for Gfriend and Mamamoo since they have won plenty in their careers but ignoring awards for Oh My Girl is another story as they haven't won that many so it doesn't feel like they are getting just another award and the only thing that'd probably give me that feeling with Gfriend and Mamamoo would be a daesang.

With that I can kinda agree, but even in situations like that it isn't really the award itself I care about. It's more that the award shows that their popularity has grown, that they have gotten more successful than before.

i completely get it, i sometimes do watch award shows for the performances and because for me it's fun to guess who might win each category but after all i don't pay that much attention to the result. of course i am happy when my favourite group achieves something, but after all i'm here for the music and not for the success. i feel like people who focus on the awards too much often forget to simply enjoy the music the groups create. even idols themselves wouldn't want their fans to create unneccessary drama which often crosses a certain line just because of some award.

I'm bit salty about nomination stuff this year, I feel like BP got robbed (in some shows) and I don't see that many of other stuff I enjoyed this year being nominated either. It is bit childish, but I mostly care when my favs- or sth I like- is being nominated and seems to have actual chance.

I might tune in for the performances. And maybe i will muster some interest closer to shows.. but not rly interested right now ^^;
