I honestly can’t wait until this tour is over. Half of the members have had to sit out either due to sickness or injury already.
They honestly need a break but knowing JYP they most likely won’t get one

The opioid epidemic made doctors terrible in the US when it come to treating pain. When I am honest about my pain levels I instantly get treated like a druggie or criminal. I have stopped talking to doctors about pain because it becomes frustrating and useless conversation. Its honestly better to suffer than be treated like that. Its kind of funny to see how upset they get when you refuse to answer their pain chart questions.

German dentists (at least the good ones) would do root canal therapy whenever possible because saving the natural tooth is almost always preferred. I had root canal treatment in the past too, pulling the tooth was a no-go.

Not knowing anything about teeth, it does seem like this would not be an overnight problem? Which means she/JYPE has been ignoring the pain for probably a long time until it got too bad.

I know Momo is always doing something, but she (and all the other girls!) need time to rest and look after her health too. We only get one body each, after all.

you are working at the dentist right? Can you explain why she could not have done this treatment in the US?

I honestly don't think JYP made them do this... the problem is the Twice members themselfs, they just don't know when to stop

I think it depends on the situation, but there does not have to be a long build up... sometimes it just starts hurting and then it hurts a lot and fast

K-Pop idols seem to have very high hygiene standards. The obvious reason for tooth root inflammation is tooth decay which shouldn't be the case here. Did you ever see an idol without perfect looking teeth?

@Nyaz please correct me if I'm wrong: another reason can be a leaky filling when bacteria enter the root canal and cause inflammation.

I'm guessing she turned down the necessary surgical procedure, hence this absurd outcome. No job on earth is worth sacrificing personal health and well-being, even Kpop! Personally, I don't extract teeth for a livin', I save them! So I'm highly tempted to blame her and not the Chicago DDS. I'll leave it at that hun....

Yes, amongst many possibilities. An Apicoectomy can be performed to remove the infected tooth tip and tissue when a conventional root canal fails to produce results.

I just tried to somehow understand it, especially why she thought this could be fixed only if she went back to korea for an extended period... it all does not add up to me and I just feel like she made a rash and regrettable decision

Reckless of her to get it pulled since I'd assume she didn't want to take potentially multiple instances of time off fixing it instead of having it pulled and dealing with the time off at once like Twice are definitely at the point where they can use their leverage to push back on stuff like this but seems they still have the mentality of going until the wheels fall off and they physically can't.
