Is Kpop the only entertainment industry that doesn't run on blatant nepotism.

I was just thinking about this because I see people complain about nepotism in Hollywood 24/7 but it doesn't seem to be a big issue in Kpop.

I can only think of Sunny from SNSD as an example because she is related to LSM and Sieun from Stayc.

Does Korea just not care about it because compared to Kpop's other issues, nepotism isn't that bad or are Kpop companies actually somewhat fair?

It must be a thing that happens but it doesn't seem to be prevalent in big groups and companies. Which I find very interesting.

I feel like we hear more about idols coming from wealthy families rather than famous ones.

Most idols I've seen have blatantly said they don't want their kids being idols. Unlike Hollywood, most singers in kpop don't actually care about being musicians.

Plus most celebrities just don't last long enough to have the kind of impact and the ones that do, often get there at the sacrifice of having kids

If there's nepotism, we'd never know about because it's not legal to expose private citizens like company executives and investors. There seem to be a lot more wealthy idols debuting compared to the older gen, so maybe that's the case
