Is the legendary randomizer biased towards boys? (1 Viewer)

So I've noticed during the reveal of new raffles, there always seem to be more BG cards than GG cards. I also saw other users share this sentiment, but as always in life our own bias and wishes may skew our perspective, so I took it open myself to analyze all the raffles in 2023 so far and see if the results match with that perception!

In total there have been 13 raffles so far this year, and this are the results:
45. Raffle: 3 boys
44. Raffle: 3 boys
43. Raffle: 3 boys
42. Raffle: 3 girls
41. Raffle: 1 boy, 2 girls
40. Raffle: 4 boys, 1 girl
39. Raffle: 2 boys, 1 girl
38. Raffle: 2 boys, 1 girl
37. Raffle: 2 boys, 1 girl
36. Raffle: 2 boys, 1 girl
35. Raffle: 1 boy, 2 girls
34. Raffle: 2 boys, 1 girl
33. Raffle: 2 boys, 1 girl

Total: 27 boys vs 14 girls

So while the sample size is not very big, a bias is very noticable with the boys pretty much getting double the amount of cards.

I wonder why that is, is the card pool of BG legendaries just bigger and so naturally those cards are chosen more often? Is it just chance? Any other reasons?

Also I wonder if there are ways to balance it out for future editions

That was kind of my thought not sure if they are counting iz*one but there ae always many bg and they tend to be big.

So i went to the math lol

Deck 1 is 9 bg 15 gg or soloist. large gg izone wjsn snsd omg DC the rest 5 or less. bg the boys ,17 monsta x, astro at 6 rest 5 or less
Deck 2 it flips 12 bg, 10 gg 2 mixed (akmu and kard) but the bg are treasure oneus NCT sf9 bts day6 ab6ix and the girls are all smalle except weekly the new exid gfrind everglow and apink.
Deck 3 14bg, EXO,enhyphe cix ateez got 7 dream stray kids 10 gg Loona fromis twice CLC gidle.

So the actual count baring my misscounts is
35 bg , and 35 gg or soloist with the 2 mixed groups. its just the number of boys in the groups is a bit larger. NCT alone wipes out 3 of deck 2 big gg.

The number of male and female groups/soloists is the same but yes there are more male cards as options than female, presumably the size of male groups on average (in our situation) is higher than females.

I meant the hugeee 10+ member groups with rares (only groups with rares can get legendaries) are all bg minus the Two I said and izone

Can you alternate BG/GG each raffle or do one gg and one bg each raffle?

That favors who has less rares instead of randomness

every card with a rare has equal chance to get picked

The thing is it’s not a gender thing it’s a people thing

and it’s music groups

so someone being male or female is not pertinent in our eyes to how ppl would like their group or be a deciding factor as many ppl like bgs and ggs

Yes, there are more bg rares, but it's not the reason for such a large discrepancy in legendaries, that's just because of it being random and it happens that more got picked by the generator than one would expect. If we make it equal, say 1 bg and 1 gg, that would mean the chance of a given male artist/card dropping will be lower than for females, which seems unfair to the stans who prefer male artists imo. I think if you were on the opposite side you would be against it too.

I checked how many cards are in each gender of rares and it comes to 248 male rares and 221 female rares which KARD and Akmu are included it that but it does mean the randomizer has been tossing out a quite unlikely ratio of boys given it should be just under 50% for girls and just over 50% for boys

Maybe, but by the looks of it. I still think the current situation is way more unfair for GG stans than the potential unfair situation you describe

The current situation isn't that different for females and males if you mean their chances of being pulled. If you mean the fact that more bgs happened to drop that's just because the randomization randomly picked them more. But again, if it were reversed and females happened to drop more, would you favor a less random solution, or just go with it with the knowledge that randomization is random and won't equally split them all the time? Nothing about the current situation is blatantly unfair to either gender.

Okay I actually did my own maths for the Legendaries using my spreadsheet and while this is only unique legendaries so it doesn't include all the duplicates however it comes out to 68 boys and 58 girls which puts the girls at 46% which means the boys were actually behind until the past couple of raffles
