THE REVE FESTIVAL IS A FUCKING BOP!!!!!!

I haven't been around for the first hour of this release because I've been laying in a ditch bleeding from the scalp after having my wig violently torn from me after watching the mv for Zimzalabim.
I've had to re watch the mv countless times to take in everything. The visuals... The vocals.... The dance break (when do you ever get that in K Pop nowadays?!).... The bridge..... OMG. Everything about the song and the MV was just screaming RED VELVET!
And they have peaked and set themselves a new high! I'm not surprised when I hear that they've been waiting a few years to release this song. Because they might've not been ready back then, but they are now! It feels as if everything that Red Velvet have done up to now was all to lead up to this point in time. That must be why they made references to every past era in the teasers


This comeback is also already setting records for the girls on a personal level as The Reve Festival Day 1 has already surpassed 34,000 sales on Hanteo and the day isn't over yet!

Meanwhile Zimzalabim's ULs in the first hour is the 2nd highest among any songs released by a girl group this year (Behind Twice's Fancy)

And to think that this is only Day 1 of the festival. We still have Day 2 and Day 3 to come this year!!!!

I listened to the whole album only once but honestly it is quite good !
My favorite song is Bing Bing ! And my least favorite are LP and the title track :(
For the title track, I will need more listenings before to actually enjoy it !

Really not feeling the title track sorry, and that's the 3rd RV title in a row that's been a miss for me. I mean 4 if you include Bad Boy, which I think is fine

The B-sides are great though, I really love Sunny Side Up and Bing Bing

I could accept that said about Power Up and RBB as those two songs are like Marmite. As much as it pains me to admit that those songs were polarising among the fandom
But your opinion is invalid after including Bad Boy in your list!

I actually don't mind Bad Boy I just don't love it as much as most people do lol.
I think 2017 was my fav RV year. I absolutely LOVED everything they released that year

I like Zimzalabim, and am appreciating it more with repeated listenings. But it is easily the weirdest/most unusual track on the EP. In that sense it's more like RBB than BB or RR. And, like RBB's, I think its bridge is heavenly.

LP was "love at first listen" for me. It was straight bossa nova done with just the right amount of Red Velvetness. It also helps that Irene (Ms. Underrated Vocals in my book) opens the song. And the chorus is just wave after wave of harmonies.

Sunny Side Up, Milkshake, and the rest were all the usual awesome B-sides. I will not skip any of these songs when they start playing in the car.

I don't hate Bad Boy but it's like a 6/10 for me. Really didn't like Power Up and RBB either, in fact my fav RV title last year was #Cookie Jar lol.

You never know what you are gonna get with RV, One minute you get one style of music, next minute, you get another style, next minute after that you get another style and the minute after that, you get another style.
Like, where does it end?
I really like their new title track but they have so many different types of music it is really confusing.
If they were marketers, they'd be all over the place and wouldn't be selling to anyone because it's like they are trying to sell to everyone.

Yes, I like this group in general, but I just can't get into them even though I want to.
