ok to bring something positive to this thread: I've honestly enjoyed Katseye's songs (Touch a bit less when it became overplayed)
I usually don't care much about "global kpop groups" and I don't really like how the group is pushed on my timeline
BUT I just saw their MNET performance and their stage presence really shocked me in a good way. Especially Daniela's presence and styling is on point.
Also I hate to say it but Gnarly is stuck in my head and kind of growing on me?

I keep seeing that argument too, but it seems so nonsense to me. "Noise marketing" only means anything if it translates into actual sales. And I'm not seeing any talk going "Huh, because this song is so bad, I'm now going to buy this album."

Also, tbh, I think it's being promoted too seriously for it to be the PR joke some people are trying to spin it as. The original meme TikTok was clearly a joke, but it was also a goofy video shot in someone's house, not the clear monetary investment this MV and styling and promotion period they're doing is.

Also them doing that tiktok with what nicki minaj said, that u need 2-3 listens

i like the clean version better lyrically but the beat is HOT. i get the criticism abt the inappropriate choreo and mv scenes but a lot of the hate online is rlly dramatic

like it's just a hyperpop song, it's not for kpop, it's for the people that get it. i've listened to hyperpop since middle school so i've heard crazier, this is quite tame honestly.

Honestly if i saw anyone who shat on skz songs for being noisy and praised this, i would've given such a big snide eye. Especialy cuz twt skeletons keep comparing it to them.

Some ppl online say it's a "pr move" for more attention on the girls. And to that i want to say .... Is the pr move to lose the fans that come for "Touch"? It's not the worst song ever, i can watch it for shits and giggles, but idk if it would end up in my playlist.

Sticker is not bad. The melody makes it complex and people don't like complex

I don't see a hype but I also don't see a drama. As often in modern Pop, the song is too short. The melodies are catchy, the beat is good, the lyrics are plain stupid. That being said, how many international Pop songs have good music but awful lyrics? I don't expect Lorde lyrics when I listen to a Pop song.

There are artists that rage against AI in music. There are also artists that write such lyrics. Don't wonder if AI will do their job in the future.
