Biggest surprise for me was Twice performing 'Cry For Me'. Came out of nowhere and it was really good lol.

My best guess is as it's a performance of an unreleased title track, IZ*ONE's company wants it to be kept private until the official release of their title track/comeback.

oh my god, the few girl groups that came really gave it their all this year !!

stray kids had the best group performance, imo. after watching that live, I want to be a fan now. that hyunjin guy is so charismatic too, he caught my eye immediately. I had to google him, like who tf does this guy think he is??? With all that stage presence too? FUCK. they are so talented wow! I was blown away by that whole performance. I also loved The Boyz and Ateez performances.

Taemin killed it as usual! Truly the king of dance and music. he should have won best dance, but again ofc MAMA doesn't give him the accurate award

Also enjoyed winter's performance! just a rookie who debuted less than 4 weeks ago and she's already performing like that. Vocals and all. Triple threat.

Yo Taemin did win best solo male dance for Criminal I think

Between Taemin, BoA, NCT and Winter of Aespa all being featured, I guess SM and MNET beef is firmly in the past

Not sure about Papa YG and JYP now lol. Blackpink did get some awards despite not being present and Treasure performed so Idk, also JYP didn't send ITZY for whatever reason although Twice and SKZ attended.
