1. Starry Night was the one of the first Mamamoo songs I heard, and among hundreds of other kpop songs I was trying out at the time, the only one that actually took me somewhere else with it and stretched the definition of what kpop was supposed to sound like.
2. Paint Me is my favorite kpop ballad, period. The perfect way to start the 4 Seasons project with a musical metaphor for what they were about to accomplish over the next four releases, and its transformation into the opening of their first series of 4 Seasons concerts was absolutely epic.
3. Rainy Season was not appreciated much by ifans but very successful in Korea, even without an MV or promotions to support it. It was the most mature of the songs released from this project, further cementing their popularity among the general public in SK and bringing their sound closer to what you would expect of one r&b soloist divided into four.
4. Egotistic is one of few kpop songs that manages to integrate foreign sounds in a way that respects both kpop and its international influence and produces something greater than the sum of its parts, and out of these releases, it was the song most exemplary of the season it was intended to represent.
5. Wind Flower was a bit confusing for me. I felt like there was indecision over whether this was intended to resonate with kpop fans or the general public and failed to reach either as definitively as the other title tracks. Still a great song but, for me, not even the best track on its album, which would be Morning.
6. Selfish was a simple, fun song resulting from one of kpop's great friendships between Moonbyul and Seulgi. Nothing too special here other than another bit of wackiness thrown into the mix of Red Moon and a good reminder that the albums were as much a reflection of each member's personality as they were the colors and seasons.
I haven't spent enough time with gogobebe, but if I had to guess, it would sit between Egotistic and Wind Flower.
