It’s scary, and it’s like humans are a bottle of glass that slowly becomes filled up with more water, mixtures, and things that dilute us. I’m sorry you attempted, but you’re still here which means this is something you can become farther from and overcome it again. It’s hard to escape what others say of us, but I find what helped me when I was going through it is knowing that wasn’t me. To be honest I’ve disliked myself, and I truly don’t care for myself at all. But there are moments I realize I am my best companion and the only one who can judge me is me. Words can hurt, but what hurts more is knowing we are not the things people say we are and believing them when they try to just throw ammo. Help is something that takes awhile to have but once you start you’ll realize how easier it becomes over time. Your trauma is what puts the thoughts in your head. I still deal with my trauma everyday. Vikki, is also a good person and she’s patient. She was a friend for me when I was a moderator and I went through mental heck because of it. You may feel bad that you push her away, but I know she understands what you’re going through and the biggest step is knowing you’re getting help for her but also yourself. The things your past have done to you do not define you. It only adds scars. We always need to accept that we’ll have them to anyone. But I always tell people think of a Mosiac. It may look like stained glass, but those are all colored shards pieced together to make a beautiful image after the process of gluing it all together. The light will come through and cast around others in a glittering light. Have patience with yourself because you have support on this journey and it’s only seen as difficult to someone because they think they’re alone. You are never alone and you have someone who supports you.
