You mean sungtaro? They're still going to be an SM group just without the NCT branding

will they actually though? aespa isn’t known these days for their “frequent comebacks” and they are currently sm’s youngest group (though i suppose they are returning more often than some of their seniors but that’s a given at literally any company)

additionally, the nct units aren’t really slowing down on comebacks either. Like 127 is gonna release another album again this year and i think wayv will too. So I don’t see how them being in the tokyo unit will have to be different if sm keeps their trajectory (I hope).

as for the money, idk nct is incredibly lucrative so I think they would do well but if I am being measured, it seems they will be going for an international slant with the new bg. Especially if they are looking for American trainees specifically so ig we’ll see what happens. There is potential for sure. :/

the fandom part is a large reason why I think they are shoving sungtaro into the bg. Tho, they would have also benefited tokyo for the same reasons and doing it this way is leaving a lot of the fanbase very divided as consequence so I’m not sure how it will turn out. Ig realistically things will calm down but I do think the bg being an sm group will always be successful with or without sungtaro so I’m not sure if the consequences are entirely worth it. Again though, we will have to see how this turns out.
