NCT Universe
Feb. 1, 2023

A (mostly) daily round-up of everything happening in the NCT Universe.
What's included: tour news, appearances, cfs, performances, news.
What's not included: IG updates unless there's something highly pertinent, merch drops unless something highly pertinent like a new CF.

WayV:

• Biggest news of the day: SM CEO Chris Lee posted a pic with Lucas. Lucas then posted a vid of him in the SM practice studio. No further announcements. It's worth noting WayV's current press promos continue to stress it's a new era and Lucas is not listed as a member on the official Weibo (the big platform in China), while Chris Lee is alleged to be on his way out with the new board members in March. There is no mention on official SM, WayV or NCT channels, so it's all quite unclear. Judging by the strong negative reaction in China and Korea, it's possible they could launch him as a soloist, if he's indeed staying. This will also fuel questions in the SuperM cb, as SuperM is a Western-focused group, so a different audience.
• WayZennis and Czennies are also upset that it happened as WayV were counting down to their first fan meet in 4 years, after NCT 127's live for Ay-Yo promotions and it being Doyoung's birthday.
• As noted, WayV is counting down to their fanmeet, which will also be on BL

NCT Dream:

• NEW TEASER: Jaemin for Men's No NO

• NEW TEASER: Jaemin for Marie Claire

• NEW PHOTOSHOOT: There's always room for Neo Pets in these updates- 'sup Queen Daegal

NCT 127:

• Ilichil hosted a live show talking about Ay-Yo with typical comedy. Of note, TY didn't think the tt was very neo, was cranky about the missing CGI that was supposed to be there and again said "DJ, kick that shit" like he had on his 🧼. Living for this Ilichil DGAF era.
• Johnny will be a guest MC on MuCore on Feb. 4!
• DJ will be the bside on the music shows. First up is M Countdown, of course!
• 127 is also on the cover of the Amazon Music K-Boys playlist.

• NEW INTERVIEW: Brazilian Quem

• More member TikToks
• You can find all the latest updates on Ay-Yo in its comeback thread.

• NEW CLIP: Doyoung released a little cover for Czennies for his birthday - he said he was too busy with the tour and promos to do more. jump here
• https://kpopsource.com/threads/nct-doyoung-special-birthday-cover-first-love.124134/

• NEW CF: Jaehyun is on the landing page for Prada in countries around the world - not just Korea.

Cross-Unit (including Rookies):

• The NCT Home exhibition has its own social accounts.
• Welcome to the NCT Universe is wrapping up and the Rookies are posting about it.

Biggest Hit on This Stage (Charts, Awards, Milestones):

• Ay-Yo has already passed Favorite's first week of sales in just 3 days 🍾
• Candy becomes the first NCT song to reach the top 10 on Melon's monthly chart. 🍾
• It was also the most streamed bg song in January on Melon.
• Candy is still at #9, Ay-Yo slides to #49 on the Melon Daily Chart.
• 2 Baddies is #10 in Billboard's World Album charts and #28 on Top Album Sales. They're the only NCT unit there.
• ROAD TO 100M 🏃‍♂️ Try Again 99.8M, Baby don't Stop 96.3M, Hot Sauce 93.9M

Neo's Got My Fact:
DYK Taeil is the only member of NCT 127 who was not a permanent or guest MC? NCT 127 is not only the biggest unit, it has the most MCs. Not surprisingly, WayV has the least.

NCT 127 -
(permanent) Mark, Jungwoo (MuCore), Doyoung, Jaehyun (Inkigayo, Show Champion)
(guest) Johnny (MuCore, M Countdown), Taeyong (M Countdown), Yuta (M Countdown), Haechan (M Countdown, MuBank)

NCT Dream -
(permanent) Jeno (The Show)
(guest) Jaemin (MuCore)

No unit yet- (permanent) Sungchan (Inkigayo)
