Idk... a part of me feels like this really petty and she should move on, but on the other hand... she has a right to reflect on her time in the group, since she was a member. I just don't know how much of this you can really believe, based on how much fiction was in the first book... Of course twitter is going to run wild with anything they read in the book and suddenly act justified in their hate for SNSD, which I don't like. I feel like we will never get the full story on 9/30 and the situation isn't as simple as we think. I never believed the 8 others were the ones at fault, like people make it seem. That is just me though.

to me Jessica stayed consistent throughout the whole deal. And SM never even hinted at suing her. She put hard dates in her statements and those would have been easy to go after if false.

Something broke internally in the group to get to anywhere near that point. its sones worst nightmare but like typical humans we choose to gloss over it. At the end of the day if she can still talk to say Yoona Sunny and Hyo that is a win and hope for the future.
groups implode. the kids were together from the age of 12 or so by the time i was 30 i did not hang around any of my childhood friends not for crazy reasons just time and space.

the quotes i read are mostly blaming 2 ppl.
Its clear that Jung sis had a special place in SM. That could not have helped, it is a cut throat world in entertainment.
and post 9/30 there is almost zero times Krystal and snsd were in the same place. Especially after she fainted off the stairs in October.
she never again went onstage for the sm town finale.
What ever happened Krystal had no use for the members after that.

tbh I think it’s largely because all her ventures outside of snsd haven’t done as well outside of 930 that she feels compelled to draw upon it so often
it’s sad because she was really popular and with the right decisions could’ve made it work but it feels like she has no sense of real direction, where she starts a bunch of projects that sound smart on paper without putting in the right amount of work in the right places to make them actually work
and then if book tyler is anything to go by, tyler doesn’t actually offer any constructive help and she’s just too blinded to see that “go chase your dreams” and some money isn’t actual support; she’s just surrounded by yes men who don’t offer her actual help or advice

honestly, if the root cause of the conflict was the b&c affair, I honestly can see why it turned out that way and I think sm should’ve made better measures beforehand to prevent the situation from unraveling so badly
I see no problem w jessica wanting to start her own solo ventures in her area of interest, but the brand being solo and the issue of profits seems like a glaring problem in retrospect
like if other members do solo gigs in acting or variety, it’s all in the group brand at the end of the day and the money made is still being split to all the members, so even if they put priority on those jobs, the others have no right to complain because they’ll still be seeing some of that money even if they’re unhappy with the disruptions they cause
but if an independent and unaffiliated project starts getting prioritized by a member, I’d see why the other members would object since they’re not seeing their share even as said project does benefit from that group brand that they’re also part of and work on even in solo ventures

as for krystal… I’d understand why she’d be over it
I think that and the end of f(x) — I personally don’t think she was over the group prior to the unofficial disbandment — were what really turned her off from the idol world

tbh, I'm with ot8 for 930 because even if most acting/variety gigs are solo, they still contribute to the group brand; I'd understand the discomfort there about priorities that lie outside building that group brand everyone else is working on, and that the book generally paints jessica in poor light (eg how she's inconsistent about whether or not it's fictional by drumming up the ~there are some true aspects just dig for them~ gossip, these vague speculations about drugging each other that she keeps 'casually' bringing up, mina sleeping w higher ups to secure a debut spot, etc)

but everything else, the leadup to 930, the whole stolen lyrics arc, the issue of stage parents, I think jessica is being reasonable
the leadup to 930 never should have gotten that extreme without any efforts in being resolved; the only actual reveals imo are the ones that relate to the DB contracts and the legality of certain actions (as in, dispatch literally had the entire timeline of 930 pretty much down, but no one else spoke up about how the 3-year renewal was just a contractual scam) so the whole "technically DB didn't do anything wrong by giving the songs I wrote then rewrote with the taeyeon stand in for her unit LM that she stole" affair was even if fans are glossing over it now; I find the disbelief at companies trading trainees funny because it does happen and is decently well documented too
same for the role of the parents, like how controlling they are (eg sunhee having her hair cut short since her parents threw a fuss to management so that she'd stand out, even mina and her dad), and how that pressure influenced some of the fence sitters in the final 930 decision; also the insinuation that it was someone in their circle who broke the tyler news to the paps

all in all, I think everyone is to some extent at fault, and I think bright reflects that, even if she absolves herself of the blame almost entirely

If they were a younger group in their prime, maybe I'd agree with you more. But at that point, SNSD was already declining and gearing to focus on more solo work regardless, something they themselves said and their actions reflect as much. Imo they were past the point of building up the brand with their solo activities and instead using the brand to build their solo careers outside the group. And look at BP and GD, a career in fashion can bring further success for the group as well, it's just not as traditional.

She tries to make herself not look as bad but she also tried to rationalize the others behavior at times which does end up making her look, for lack of better words, not that bright. The main thing I'm getting from this is poor communication on her part and deeper issues from their side (*coughs* #mydependablesister #diamondsareforever #noproblemmembers *coughs*) because even though she admits to be run ragged from handling 4 different gigs, there's no just reason a small fashion line launched during a low period in the group should have caused that much drama within a month. Not to the extent of kicking someone out right before a concert.

It being a priorities issue never stuck with me either considering how blatantly not a priority the group was to them at the point and then on after.
I'd never for a second say Jessica was bullied but there's clearly a much deeper issue here and they all seem pretty unprofessional.

I do think that SM's tight leesh over some aspects of the members careers contributed to this a lot.

seems like the SNSD x Jessica problem thing is still going on..... IDK what mess SM put them in.....
