Ahn Joon Young PD was recently arrested after evidence of voting manipulation were found on his popular program, PRODUCE X 101. New reports claim that Ahn Joon Young manipulated the votes after receiving nightlife entertainment from certain entertainment agencies located in Gangnam.

Soon after the end of Produce 101 Season 2 and the solidified popularity of the audition program series, agencies began treating Ahn Joon Young to night life entertainment multiple times over a period of a year and 6 months. It’s been reported that female hostesses were also involved.

Ahn Joon Young reportedly began attending these entertainments since January 2018, just a couple of months before the beginning of Produce 48. He recently confessed that he had manipulated the final votes for Produce 48 (season 3) and PRODUCE X 101 (season 4). Investigations claimed that agencies spent over 100 million won (~$90,000 USD) in entertainment for Ahn Joon Young. As the last two seasons have been airing, Ahn Joon Young was reportedly continuously being treated by agencies and manipulating votes in their favor.

Although Ahn Joon Young reportedly received nightlife entertainment with drinks and hostesses, accusations of prostitution remains unknown.News reports claim that the police are preparing to investigate Mnet higher ups and the contestants from Season 4 about the voting manipulations.

also, doesn't this prove that S2 is free of rigging? it seems like he let greed take him over after seeing how successful S2 was in Korea

Yup, I was surprised that it was not in Gangnam, because I remember they mentioned 3 possible entertainment companies, and woollim was one of them, the other two were Starship and MBK (who are both in Gangnam and had more than one member make it as well). And they probably wouldn't let random people lurk around there. xD

I think so? I know people question Junho making it into the group but I remember he was the most popular trainee at the beginning out of all boys with biggest amount of fansites.

free of paid agency rigging at least.
Did he rig members in to the s1 s2 groups for programming or composition reasons? we may never know.

I honestly don't think so, I watched S2 when it aired and it was absolutely massive in Korea in terms of hype, S4 doesn't even come close to it (the ratings are far worse and I think main hype came from the fact that you could watch it live on YouTube, something that we couldn't do during S2 and that members from already established groups made it into the group).

There were some odd parts but I think most of it can be explained + S1/S2 didn't have the odd voting thing going on that S3/S4 had. And S4 definitely inflated the votes as well, there's no way Yohan/Wooseok both got more votes than Jihoon who finished second with 1.1 million votes (who went viral during S2 for his wink and nae maeum soge jeojang that multiple celebrities imitated in Korea and outside of it).

all seems fine here, no number is repeated more than once

the tampering is not as obvious but 8014 repeats twice and so does 2226

everyone focuses on the last ep because that is the final group, but i am convinced he played with ep 11 in even more. Unless reports are true and none of the rounds were anywhere near accurate. and 9 10 Ep 11 is the true outlier. Miho Miyu Chaeyeon Yena and to some extent Kaeun were on massive downward arcs Chaewon Yuri Wonyoung Nako Nayoung Haeyoon were trending up week after week.
Ep 12 is darn close to ep 8 just some players changed. Yunjin because of the Nako disaster. Kaeun because of her lackluster performances.
Chowon just outside at 13 about where she would have been in 8 with out the huge benefit(she was 12th but the benift is a double boos it effects the voters too).
another girl who got screwed is murase Sae she likely should have been in the final 20 too.

The problem is if he cheated ep 11 especially saving the j trainees that should have been gone maybe they played better in the pool of 20.

While the kids are getting some hate/ negativity in Korea.
Folks inside teh fandom say there is an awful lot of positive type press blaming the show not the kids. And they think still an opportunity to continue.

It seems crazy , but cant really wait until tomorrow to see.

IOI i was never super invested because i just did not like somis attitude. Especially the crying because she was 4th. Like come on she was almost assured a shot from the start with the twice/16 fans pushing her.
And she was just enough to put me off getting into the whole group and not just the majority of the members.
Adn i would have rather had jellyfishes Kim Nayeon over Jung Chaeyeon but chaeyeon is a visual so ya gotta take that.

for 48 while i was not super fond of Hyewon (as opposed to say Minju or Sohye both whom i liked for the effort) I saw the charm connectivity she had with folks. I never expected to become invested in them since my initial opposition to the show was that the j kids had a crazy unfair advantage. That proved true really only for Sakura but she did have that young adorable aura also and crazy pretty .

i am sure the manipulation wasnt just for voting, also for the cut and editing.. thats why i wouldnt call "x derserved it, blalbbalbllbal" its so easy to influence how you feel about certain members.. there are so many scenes, even in pd 101.. u can clearly see, they pushed certain contestant..

It's so obvious for season 4, even with the percentages - it's basically impossible to have all of percentages only being to one decimal place. It's like they didn't even try hiding that they had manipulated the scores...

Tbh, I've seen a lot more positive reactions and understanding for the trainees than I was expecting. Usually in those cases everyone is thrown under the bus, I guess this is because they feel so disgusted by AJY & Co. actions they understand what's going on but I've also seen people asking for disbandment not out of hatred but as a way to amend the situation, so the members can come clean to the public.
If you ask me, it definitely sounds like the right thing to do but I'm not fan of any of those groups.
