It was actually hilarious how Mnet made Tao the MC literally just out of pettyness! Tao isn't even that popular and doesn't have the best rep, but it's obvious they picked him because Lay was in idol producer!

He is... kinda...

he isn't anywhere near Lay, Luhan or Kris in popularity though... he also has a bit of a bad rep, because he came to china acting like he was some big rap god and he was a bit of a laughing stock of the chinese hip-hop community. Got a few diss tracks made about him and all.
