I remember SNSD famously saying once that they didn't have subunits because you can't divide the group... but it was probably more because subunits were generally not profitable until more groups like Orange Caramel proved they could be. Heck, KRY didn't even have their first non-OST single until after OC debuted.

Their longevity is really admirable. It's so weird having been into kpop long enough to remember it genuinely being a concern that you'd never seen an idol again 7+ years after debut, and now it's like, over only when they want to stop.
