The poll has now closed. Thank you everyone for voting :) Odd Eye has won group A with 6 pts, The Reason came up 2nd with 4, while 3 songs had split the 3rd place each with 3 votes. Let's see if that's going to be enough to advance. I'll post the next group, b, in a bit.

Don't mind me posting these late

Chocolate - so this is one I was recced before. I wasn't sure if I liked it or not so I added it on my playlist temporarily. But when it came up I decided it was ok, and removed it from my playlist so relistening, yeah I still don't like. It's really not for me. I wouldn't add it to my playlist or wanna listen often, prob skip. I see why people might like it based on the production tho. There is a part in the middle, pure instrumental, that I like. It's bouncy. And one part closer to the end. over 3 min in. but overall still not for me



Get It - so I hadn't heard this one before. The instrumental at the beginning was um, interesting. The sound is interesting too. It seems very rap focused. It was seeming I would find it ok. But then vocals came in. And sometimes during the middle I was liking it. It's an interesting song. A song you could dance in a cool way to, if you get what I mean. leather jackets and shades. Ok after 2 min it's weird again. The harmonies ooh. nobody can stop me. Nice beat. Nice harmonies again. Oooh nice vocals. get it get it get it uuh. don't stop, get it get it. Ok I'm adding this to my playlist.

This is such a strong ballad fest, I already hate you random generator but also some amazing bops in Dynamite, Odd Eye, Chocolate.

but I'm probably also going for ballads this time I just love the melodies and emotion on The Reason and Colors of the Season which is among my favorite Japanese tracks and Selene 6.23 is just iconic and so special. Ofc not to mention the top tier vocals on all of them.

I agree, slower songs are boring most of the time

The Reason - another one I hadn't heard before. Ah it's laidback. Very nice. The beginning reminds me of laidback bollywood songs. love the guitar riffs in the background. Ok after 3 min there's some clapping and less going on. Don't really like that part. Luckily it picks up soon after. Nice. Adventure movie soundtrack vibes. Or anime soundtrack vibes. Or maybe not. Because I haven't watched much anime. But it feels like it fits the anime art style. If you get what I mean. Which you prob don't. My fave song so far this round. A really good song. Going on my playlist

At this point Get It and The Reason were in consideration for my vote

I Say - Another one I hadn't heard. ah interesting beginning. piano. But tbh this is kinda one of those boring slow songs for me. I'd prob skip. Some nice runs tho.


Dynamite - Ok the instrumental. It's groovy. And I get a hint of the genre. The vibe does seem to go with other shinee songs of the time. But the distortion. The instrumentals have some distortion. And omg I can't stand it, while I see why others could like it. Also it looks like the vocals are taking a backseat to the instrumentals at the forefront, which makes it worse for me. At least the pre-chorus instrumentals are better. I don't really like the chorus tho. There's nice vocals including growling. The song really isn't for me though. It's a skip and my least fav so far of this group.



Colors of the Season - ok japanese. another slow song. piano again. It's kinda nice. Not very nice tho, but I'll add it for now ig. It's also kinda boring at parts. So if I don't like any of the other songs, I might vote it but if I like any others, it'll be first kicked out of the songs I like rn. Ok never mind I think it's a bit too boring. So it's ok

So so far (at this point) the reason and get it had chance to get my votes

Odd Eye - Another one I've heard before. And I found it ok before. I think it's really great. The verses, that is. I really don't like the pre-chorus/chorus at all. Youuuu. My eyes on youuuu. So the chorus what makes it ok. The rest of the song is better. otherwise, I might've liked it.


Beautiful - One I hadn't heard before. Interesting. Electro. There's a very electronic melody playing, meanwhile there's a sound in the background. Like some loading sound mixed with a pressure cooker. It builds up tension and interest. Then the soothing vocals come in. Then the drums. As Key takes over from Jonghyun, another drum joins the mix. Then when Onew starts, cymbals join in. Each time the member singing changes, a new percussion instrument is added. It becomes more dynamic. Then comes the chorus. And it sounds really nice. The vocals, harmonies, instrumentals. Then there's a loading sound again as Onew sings. Then the drums come in as Minho sings. And another set of drums as Key sings. And again, another set as Jonghyun joins in. Then, we're back in the chorus. Beautiful harmonies. Beautiful chorus. Nice beat. The electro instrumental changes and a rap starts. During the rap, again drums join it, but not because of a member change. Although the instrumental changes and becomes brighter when Key starts. When the singing starts up again, the instrumental becomes even brighter. The beat gets faster and tension increases as Jonghyun sings, culminating in a held high note before another chorus starts up. And as he starts the chorus "Aremdaewo" there's a moment with no instrumentals, just Jonghyun's voice. And the instrumental joins him again while he's still singing that word. Nice harmonies and vocals once again. Nice beat. Bright song. This is a really good song. My fave so far. I can also see it playing in a youthful, happy scene in an adventure movie.

So so far the reason, get it, and beautiful had chance to get my votes.

Good good feeling - another one I hadn't heard before, and another japanese song. The beat is nice. The song is fun and bright, yet laidback. As Key's rap starts, the instrumental and beat changes. I really like Key's rap; his flow is nice. The rest sounds good until the pre-chorus. The instrumental and beat changes during the pre-chorus. The pre-chorus is fine. Then there's some riffs and a slight pause before the chorus. The chorus is bright, but I wasn't really feeling it. It's ok. So I liked the beginning, but don't really like the chorus. Prob gonna be an ok song overall. Minho's rap is nice too, nice flow. But it's not enough to save the song. It's still ok. By this time I got bored. I did like the beginning and the raps, overall a meh song tho.


Graze - Another one I hadn't heard before. It starts out sounding acoustic - and laidback and chill. Some gruff, spoken ad-libs. Then singing begins. Another instrument has joined in when Onew sings. I think it's a harp, but don't quote me on this It's nice so far. A nice chill song. Nice harmonies. I'm nodding my head slowly to the beat. During the pre-chorus, the instrumental becomes brighter. The instrumental pauses along with Jonghyun as it builds up to the chorus. The chorus is harmonized with some ad-libs, and it sounds really nice. There's a sustained high note by Jonghyun during Minho's rap, and it sounds nice. Minho's flow is not bad either, and the beat is nice. There's some nice layered harmonies as well. This is a really nice, chill, laid-back, relaxing but not slow and boring song. In this second chorus, the instrumental is different than in the first. It's brighter, and sounds like it's been transposed. There's more instrumentals as well. I hear a piano as well, for example. Another Minho rap. Again starting during a held note, this time a harmonized one led by Onew as far as I could tell. The instrumental changes for Minho's rap. There's less instruments, it's more minimalistic, and less bright. Minho's flow is nice. The instrumental changes again for Key's rap. A guitar joins in, and the instrumental sounds brighter. Not one of Key's best raps. His enunciation could be better. He's definitely on beat tho. Another buildup with instrumental pauses along with Jonghyun's singing. Another chorus with harmonies and Jonghyun ad-libs. Harmonies while Minho raps in the background is the bridge, and it's nice. A good song. Added to my playlist.

So with me liking Graze, Get It was kicked out of consideration for my vote. At this point, my vote considerations were Beautiful, Graze, The Reason.
