So many points here, but some of my thoughts:
So far both YG and Seungri are associated with prostitution, not rapes, date drugs and hidden cams. Of course they might have sth to do with those, but police isn't investigating that and there hasn't been any prove out in public that would tie them to those. With YGE the issue seems to be "just" ties to prostitution at the moment. Which is illegal and bad in my opinion, but lot less than rape and hidden cams. YGE isn't associated to Burning Sun either so I don't think BS sins should be thrown at YGE right now, not at least until there is any evidence out of the ties.
@RandAlThor &
@JakeyWantsCakey I think there is ways to cut financial support towards company without cutting all support from idols. Bad reputation gained from media and investors turning their backs to YG will hurt them more than people not watching Blackpink's youtube videos. Music, albums, performances.. those are art that artist make and put out, but things like CFs are mostly just company deals.
Then I wonder what the goal of the boycot is. If it's to bring YGE down as company and label, well that's sth that would have tons of effects to artists within company and I personally think it would be a shame since YGE is great platform of creating music, it's sth label does excells at. For some it doesn't seem to even stop at company- they want to also bring down the artists which is ofc sth antis want anyways. In terms of change within company, well it would been wisest if YGE had changed their CEO's already, when there was vote of confidence, and maybe reduced role of YG and his brother in the company. What YG could do and probably should is acknowledging people's concerns and saying they will investigate the company and work together with police and change all the practices that have issues or are illegal- and punish those responsible both in company and by law.
I'm just sad about how the anti-YG mentality is also anti-artist mentality from simple boycotting of their music to outright insulting them.
