Woolim's a part of SM?!? I never knew that! It's a bit odd then that that was never publicized and Lovelyz/Infinite/etc. never took part in SMTown when groups like M.I.L.K. under other SM subsidiaries did back in the early 00s.

Is HYBE seriously fated to consume every K-pop company and ruin pretty much all of them? This is getting ridiculous. How large of a corporate conglomerate can you be?

SM sold their shares of Woollim long ago since that happened but since Woollim was going bankrupt then Hybe probably bought it on the cheap to get access to what assets they had

The favouritism accusation is vague, is it with groups or members or staff? It's a shame that things have ended this way knowing the consistently incredible groups they housed. I don't like jumping the gun but I wonder if other companies now had a hand in the downfall of Woollim...

I'd rather stay ignorant and not think about it. As long as the big companies + stable mid tier companies like starship and fnc keep at it I think we'll be good, hopefully, fingers crossed, I'm still scared.

I agree that infinite probably kept woollim afloat for a while but I think Sm buying Woollim wasn't nessecarily a bad thing since Lovelyz was big in their early career and golden child did have a successful, if not huge, group run. It really depends on when Sm sold Woollim

SM had sold all their shares by about 2016 so I doubt it had anything to do with this as much as they lost their moneymakers and then couldn't recoup the debts from the groups they were debuting when they didn't hit the level of success they needed to be.
