People do this with every mainstream Kpop genre though as I remember people talking about how boring cute concept comebacks were when it was more mainstream and now it's a rarity due to other concepts taking over so people are talking about it.

Regardless of what the concept is when you have an industry that relies on following trends then having the main concept be in position for a long time will make things boring as it dictates what a lot of groups concepts will be even if there will always be groups that appeal to fans of more niche concepts.
