The crack heads in charge now are going to have inflation over 10% and at least i will have the memories.

Shoot much of the food stuff i buy on a regular basis is up 20% or more just this year.

I hear you. Where I used to live they are increasing the min wage from $9.65 to $11 over the span of a year... I'm sure that will turn out so well

I remember when one could be minimalist and still survive on $100 on food a month... Not now. lol

Do you mean drunk or royally f**ked over? For the area i'm referring to both is probably true. The people that are making this will have more disposable income and likely drink more. The people without a job [since there will be tons because hiring rates will decrease] will likely increase their drinking as well as a means to deal. $11 an hour in a rural environment will likely f**k over small businesses as well...

But trends do tell a lot about the current state of things in relation to the past... and it definitely isn't/shouldn't be normal for income increases to be like this:

For the past 5 going on 6 years there has been an increase in min wage... historically it tends to stay stable after an increase for a number of years. While I am not an economist I would assume that for an area to keep the same min wage for a number of years after an increase is better.

For the past 5 going on 6 years there has been an increase in min wage... historically it tends to stay stable after an increase for a number of years. While I am not an economist I would assume that for an area to keep the same min wage for a number of years after an increase is better.

the other thing that does is degrade the wages of people who were above the new rate, because most companies do not roll that variance up ...

... but the union contracts do.. many are based on min wage for some calculations.
