was it the one with the same director and actress as the breakfast club where the parents forgot about the main character's 16th birthday because of her older sister or something? if this is the one then i agree. i've only seen it once so i don't fully remember it but the parts where the guys made some bet to get that girl's underwear... yikes idk why so many people consider these movie "classics" in any way

That's the one. Honestly, I've noticed that any movie with Molly Ringwald tends to run the risk of having a main character who whines endlessly. I really didn't like her in the Breakfast Club. The best part of that movie for me is when the goth girl said that she was there because she had nothing else better to do that day...

true, same goes for her another movie pretty in pink - loved the sountrack, hated everything else. 14 year old me would be disappointed in what i'm saying now but john hughes is truly one of the worst film directors i have ever heard of. i forgot the goth girl's name but she was cool until they did that hideous make-over to her and made her look like a carbon copy of the main character. what was the reason...

There are much better movies from that time period.. Like The Lost Boys just to give an example.
