I honestly don't know how I feel about it
Tbh I think like it really depends on the idol and how THEY feel about it, but also it's impossible to... know? how they feel about it.

ig I'd say that smut is not alright, unless the idol has somehow indicated that they are fine with it
otherwise that's... a lot

and I know I'm being a bit of a hypocrite here bcs I have DEFINITELY written very sexualizing stuff about idols lmao, but in the past few years my understanding and stance about this topic has changed a LOT. Overall I think that if you would feel guilty/weird if the idol saw what you have written about them then you shouldn't be writing it.

non-sexual fanfiction would be alright though ig

this basically. also try to put yourself in the shoes of the person you're writing about. how would you feel if someone wrote smut about you? wouldnt you feel violated? wouldnt you feel really gross if someone wrote a story depicting you as some toxic, cheating bad boy?

im fine with cheesy stories about your fave spotting you in a crowd and falling head over heels in love with you though, its a little cringey sure but its harmless fun if you're otherwise normal about it.

writing fanfiction and even love stories with your idol isn't necessarily out of bounds

It's the same way that thirsting over idols is perfectly fine (especially if they are doing sexy concepts)
but there is a limit to that

It's alright to acknowledge and thirst over sexy pics and videos of an idol
It's weird if you are constantly commenting graphic details about what you want the idol to do to you

I think if you are going to write r18, pls keep it about adults and nothing abusive or illegal. I’ve seen fanfics that put minor members in smut and there’s so much other disgusting stuff out there…
