It seems to be considered normal with some idols, Taeyang got more support than hate over dating Min Hyorin.

I think it depends on the idol. like @blueberries mentioned, Taeyang got massive support and fans were super fine with the marriage. Same with Eli of UKiss as far as I know ( he was secretly married ). Then there are cases like Baekhyun and Taeyeon that got massive hate.

I don't think Koreans are against the dating itself. From the general things I have read, they get mad because idols date but at the same time pretend to be the fans' boyfriend as well in order for them to stay in the fandom.

At least, that's the vibe that I get from majority of the comments I've seen in dating scandals. I know it's stupid but also kinda true?

That is very true. Many fans think that a simple gesture, such as a wave, mean: I want to marry you.
Like: Nope. That is just what the fans say.

The idols just appreciate the love and support.




And I doubt that it will be normalized anytime soon for safety reasons.
Like-
If an idol started dating someone that isn't famous, they could get attacked by crazy fans that want to be loved by them.

Internationally? Soon. Now with kpop being more internationally popular it seems people accept their idols' relationships. But I'm still a bit afraid that Korea might need longer. BUT if Jaehyo and Daniel didn't start a hate ocean, this might be a good sign
