For media to have a pretense of not being biased, even when most know they aren’t (present day has a lot of that)? Or would you prefer for media to openly acknowledge its bias even if that makes it more extreme? An example of that is the early years of the US. At that time, newspapers were made to cater to political parties, and many prominent early American politicians anonymously published very nasty articles about each other (some examples were Hamilton, Jefferson, Madison, Benjamin Franklins grandson, ect).
Both sides have good and bad. If media is honest about its bias it becomes harder to pass it off as truly objective. But if there’s no expectation of objectiveness, you’ll probably never be able to find anything close at all.
