Why Are WJSN's Sales Growing So Fast? (1 Viewer)

I mean we can constantly talk about WJSN being back by Chinese fans. But what I want to know is, why? Why are they being backed by Chinese fans? Correct me if I'm wrong but none of the Chinese members are apart of the promotions, right? So then, what's the incentive behind C-fans bulk buying to this extent?

For some weird reason, WJSN's sales are growing exponentially for no good reason. There should always be a reason for growth, right? For GFriend, they went from 10K to 40K because of two mega hits. Then from 40K to 70K for maintaining relevance and concept change to attract female fans. Then they were at a slump. Then, they got another hit with TFTMN which propelled their sales again. Now, they've finally surpassed 90K. But WJSN's fandom is growing because..?? I mean OMG's having their biggest hit yet and still their sales haven't seen even half the growth WJSN's has. WJSN has surpassed MAMAMOO's sales and are now aiming to pass GFriend's, which would make them 4th best selling GG this gen.

But again I ask, why?​

That's true. But nevertheless, I'm still curious to see if I've missed something that may have given them huge exposure to gain a lot more fans.

I think its more of supporting groups which are known to them, even though the chinese members arent part of the current promotion, wjsn itself is very popular in china cause they were promoted there before and is known as a joint venture group with chinese members, so we have to remember the chinese are very nationalistic like the japanese fans who are supporting twice, china has also a huge middle class now, and its a gold mine. This is not the china we knew from the 80s to 90s, they are turning into a first world nation if not already. Any groups which can penetrate the chinese market will be able to have great sales.

I agree with this and they are currently growing in popularity in Korea as well with their music show wins.

I think it's just naturally demonstrative of their popularity and fandom growth as they release more music. I also think their music is improving and their ethereal concept has been nice.

They're currently at 50K on Hanteo which probably means they'll sell like 70-80K on Gaon. So, no it's not really slowing down at all lol.

The thing is there is no explanation for this non stop growth. Usually, CONSTANT increase in sales, especially for a girl group, means that they're gradually gaining public interest and normally, GGs who sell 60K already have massive public popularity but WJSN is pretty much nugu amongst the Korean public, excluding Yenjung.

If good music and sales had a correlation, we'd see a lot more nugu groups have a spike in sales :(

WJSN's sales are comparable to a smaller boy group's sales. Gaining fan attention but not public. Who knows if we can explain this trend, but I'm glad for it.

I know that music doesn't equal fans but just wanted to mention that their music is great nowadays.

Agreed. But, I mean don't the popular members already have their own group where their specific fans can spend their money on? I think they were called Rocket Girls. Again, I don't see why C-fans would support a group who basically don't house any Chinese members. Does WJSN even promote in China without their C-members? How many times have they been to China this year to promote? Do they go on talk shows there?

its pretty drastic considering they have not had any hits, really. Which i think is yoda's quandary.

Then we have Loona who have zero public presence but also killer physicals, they also don't seem to be slowing down any time soon.

maybe folks are just randomly buying more albums in general and a rising tide lifts all boats.. yet the top groups seem to flatten.

A lot of girl groups nowadays have massive or growing fandoms and hopefully we'll get to the point where they don't have to rely on the fickle public to stream their songs.

I see a lot of gg fans, whether female or male, as compared to a couple years back.
