The biggest problem isn't the smell of cigarettes (I myself was a chainsmoker for many years). The main problem is that I don't want to watch my girlfriend killing herself slowly. I wouldn't date a woman who smokes tobacco, drinks too much alcohol too often, or take hard drugs.
